What are your thoughts on "Karens"? I.e. extremely entitled white women.

This stereotype seems to have gain traction within last few years. Any truth to it?

Any truth to it? ,
no its an ugly internet meme/craze/fad

They're out there sure , but so are the male versions , they should get a name too - preferably the same name (not karen , a new one encompassing both sexes)

reply

I feel sorry for every woman whose first name is "Karen".
And it doesn't make it any better if a male "bad name" is created to compensate.

reply

true , I know a couple of Karens .
I'm not suggesting we adopt "Garry" or something as a male equivalent , just some sort of new phrase that isnt anyones name ,
like "jobsworth" for instance , but that one only applies to people who are at work at the time .

reply

Just imagine how bad it was for girls named Lolita.

reply

Ohhhhh yah!
My first name is neither "Karen" nor "Lolita".
But it makes a 'wonderful' rhyme with many bad things.
Luckily I wasn't small for my age in primary school. 😈

Entitled people can be really annoying and hard to deal with. I have spoken with a lot of entitled people, both men and women, of all races and backgrounds. I don't think white women are any more entitled than any one else.

reply

As with most internet buzzwords, it has been overused to the point where it has lost nearly all of its original meaning. Nowadays it sounds like just another sexist term.

reply

White women have worked very hard to take as much power as they can. I just wish they'd be honest about it.

reply

Most are, except the ones making a dishonest living from moral panic by leading CRT workshops.

I think the term is ridiculous is about all I can think of

reply

Where the term ''Karen'' come from? What's the story?
Who was the original Karen?

reply

Apparently Dane Cook used it in one of his stand up routines.

Signed, million man.

This current trend started with giving them alliterative nicknames. The lady that complained about black people barbecuing in the park was Barbecue Becky. The lady that complained about the black kid selling water was Permit Patty. Somewhere along the line People just got lazy and everything is Karen Karen Karen.
