Tonight! - Jethro Tull, Pavilion, ‘Sunny’ Bournemouth 🤘🎸 🪈

Time for me to cross off another legend on their ‘Seven Dacades’ tour 🤘🎸🪈

reply

Another favorite band from my younger days! Used to own the Aqualung & Thick as a Brick albums.

reply

Classic albums! Classic band! 🪈👍

reply

Absolutely! And another band I'm surprised to learn is still touring and performing.

reply

Half time interval - I have beer!

reply

Of course! 😁 So do I, in a frosted mug.🍺 Prosit!🍻 That's German for, cheers.

reply

In the pub opposite for a post gig scoop 🍻

reply

I've had several mugs by now and I'm in my Happy Hour, as we like to say in the States.😁🍻

reply

I’m onto the Southern Comfort and Lemonades now 🥃

reply

I've had Southern Comfort before and completely enjoyed it. I also like the movie: https://moviechat.org/tt0083111/Southern-Comfort

Great film - great drink (I call it my summer drink; sitting in the sun, plenty of ice, classic rock playing - it doesn’t get much better than this).

reply

I get it. Idyllic.🌴 I used to enjoy straight "Jack on the rocks" and even did tequila boilermakers. Now, I might get that wild hair up my ass maybe during a birthday or a major holiday.

☀️🌞🌅🕶️👍

I'm not a massive fan, but I do like them and Aqualung is a great album. I love how Ian Anderson is a big nerd who plays the flute and doesn't take any drugs of any kind.

reply

Same. I always found it interesting that "Aqualung" is their signature song, but no flute.

reply

A lot of people immediately cite Aqualung, which I do like, but my favorites are Benefit, War Child & Minstrel In the Gallery.

reply

I don't mind "Stand Up", but I find it so much weaker than Aqualung.

reply

I like "Stand Up", even though they're still pretty much in the Blues-Rock mode & still figuring it out, I found it much stronger than "This Was", but not quite as great as what was to come.

reply

It was a good gig 🤘🎸🪈

reply

It's fun to see a flute player react to seeing Ian Anderson play

VERY COOL.

reply

It was 🕶️🤘🎸🪈

reply

Wow! I’ve watched countless videos of them live on YouTube! I would love to see them.

I’m packing now for Hank Williams Jr. on tomorrow night. 😀

reply

Awesome also! That should also be a great show!

reply

Have a super time and let us know how it went 🎸👍

reply

Grew up listening to this 'cause parents were avid CW fans. I also remember the movie with George Hamilton. I sometimes used to hear it being referred to as, "crying in your beer" music. 😁 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTI38-t_jCk&list=PLKTVVgfu4JDk-SPhZVkhAR2PYdOxHE1AY&index=2

reply

Awesome! "Aqualung" is probably my favorite track from them also. They had a track called "Part Of The Machine" that came out around the time I was graduating high school (around 1987) that I liked as well. Interesting band... hope you had a great time!

reply

They have quite the discography.

reply

ELO is touring after something like 40 Years now and haven't had a concert since 1986.. All of these old acts cashing in one last time..

reply

I saw them a couple of years ago at Wembley Stadium and they were imperious (they’re my favourite band ever). They subsequently released ‘Wembley Or Bust’ and if you listen really carefully, you can hear me cheering (possibly).

reply

Just like Earth,Wind & Fire and Chicago. https://www.earthwindandfire.com/

Aerosmith is touring and coming to St.Louis in Oct after a cancellation several months ago due to Steven Tyler having bloody vocal chords.. Perhaps it's time to retire and Sammy Hagar should be next.. The radio plays this LIVE Van Halen song with Hagar and he sounds rough.. One thing I've noticed about older acts is when they forget the lyrics during a performance, they sing a little of the song, then have a 10 minute Jam session, come back, sing more of the song, more jam session etc to throw people off

reply

I’ve been to over a thousand gigs and they’ve mostly been good. I find the older guys put on a better show.
