What is the worst sandwich ingredient?
Tomatoes. They make everything soggy. However, a BLT is an exception; somehow that works.

Sliced tomato with prosciutto on a baguette is the simplest but greatest sandwich in the world.
Grilled cheese and tomato is great. Many sub sandwiches just wouldn't be the same without tomatoes. Essential.
