Books That Made You Cry?

For me it was without doubt 'Flowers for Algernon'

reply

A book has never made me cry.

Signed, million man.

reply

recomended Flowers for algernon.

reply

I was forced to read that in middle school.

Signed, million man.

reply

Fair enough.

reply

Of mice and men is a good contender though. And I kind of liked Watership Down.

Signed, million man.

reply

Watership Down is a great book, I’ve read it three times at least.

‘All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you they will kill you. But first they must catch you…’

reply

I recommend the "Charlie" movie based on the book. I saw it when I was very young and it bummed me out. I decided to read the book when I was a teen. Very sad.

I expect nothing less from you! 🤭

reply

I'm a big fan of lowered expectations.

I'll do my best to continue to set the bar low, real low.

Squash is so darn easy!
Apples are another matter…

How do you find this stuff 😆

'Sleeping Beauty' by Anne Rice

reply

Too many to count.

reply

Odd Thomas.

reply

Did you read the whole series?

Saint Odd made me teary at the end too.

reply

Usually, the author has to really do their thinking (about the plot) for me to like even the series' first sequel. I couldn't finish even the 2nd installment.

reply

Have you ever read the short story version of Flowers for Algernon that inspired the novel? Because it's shorter, it's even more of an emotional gut punch in my opinion.

reply

'Everyone Poops'

reply

That makes me teary, sometimes.

The ending of "The Call of the Wild"
The ending of "The Little Mermaid" and "The Little Match Girl"
