Last thing I saw him in was the 2nd season of Fortitude, which was not as good as the first, but was still OK. Now, I would avoid anything he is in - bad branding to put a creep in your movie.

Quaid claimed he voted for Reagan twice, but also for Obama and Clinton.
Some people DO switch back and forth from party to party based on the candidate.
But a lot do NOT. One party only, all the time.

PS. Whatever Quaid's wealth, he is still movie star enough to have recently married a woman about 40 years younger than him, with, one expects, the sexual benefits therefrom. That's its own kind of power and independence.
