The Most New York Movie?

Was "The Warriors" the most New York movie based on its setting, shooting locations and actors? The only other movie I can think of that comes close is "Saturday Night Fever".

Beneath the Planet of the Apes

Well, Planet Of The Apes too. It took place in NYC, we just didn’t know it until the end.

How about Sleepers and A Bronx Tale ?

'Across 110th Street' was a real NYC movie

'Carlitos Way'
Warriors was great tho!! Love it to this day!
Honestly...1/3 of cool crime/thriller/drama movies seem to be about the BX/NYC so its impossible to say

The Muppets speak for themselves.

25th Hour is a movie that I don't know why I like it but I love it.
I've only been to NY a few times.
Every time I watch it I think "This is New York"

reply

Ill look for it thx Godeway
My favorit Spike 'joint' is 'Clockers' btw
Chk it out if you want
Really depressing storytelling but kind of gallows humor funny...
Good movie making anyway
Cheers !

Midnight Cowboy much more NYC, especially that era. Saturday Night Fever was in Brooklyn.

I guess one could throw in Sex and the City, When Harry Met Sally, Rosemary’s Baby, An Unmarried Woman, Moonstruck, Working Girl as very New York too.

reply

For 1990s NYC, don't forget You've Got Mail and Green Card!

Can’t believe no one has mentioned Quick Change yet.

Fahrenheit 9-11

Any crap created by that self-promoting asshole Stan Lee(bowitz), who thought that N’York was the center of the Jew universe. That was 40 years ago, Stan. It has been confirmed that Manhattan is irrevocably SINKING INTO THE OCEAN. What does it matter to you? You’re dead.

And you did not creat comic books.
