I haven't seen that much of the series, but from what I have seen, I think my favorites are the "Hey Mon"-sketches, and "America's funniest security camera videos". So sharp, those scenes are indeed.
Thank you for flying Church of England. Cake or Death?
Favorite sketch? As much as I loved listening to Damon Wayans playing Oswald Bates, I would have to say my favorite sketch is that of Jim Carrey playing Don Rickles as a special guest to a United Nations convention. I have quite a few episodes on tape somewhere, and I would always watch this particular one because it made me and my friend laugh so much. C'mon, it's Don Rickles. At a United Nations convention. You know there's bound to be a truckful of derogatory remarks.
I'd post particular quotes, but again...not sure if they're clean enough for me to do it here, so I won't. :)
My favorite is by far is the ones with hommie the clown, antwon jackson, and most of all, when Jim Carry plays Vera Damilo. It does not get any funnier when you hear Jim do his vera damilo laugh.
I doubt most people would remember this skit but twoards the end of the series there was a skit about the grim reaper (played by Jim Carrey) on vacation at a resort getting drunk with a couple who convinced him to start killin people as a joke which in turns leads to everyone there getting killed in funny ways. I've only seen it a handful of times but I still laugh to tears just thinkin about it.
" Ya might wanna get down & hide for this one... DRIVE BY! "
I remember each sketch you guys just mentioned. I like just about anyone with Jim Carry, Homie D. Clown, Kim Waynes when she talks about people behind their back then says But you didn't hear that from me, the Videos( Vinilla Ice, Mr. Uglyman etc...) The Home Boy Shopping Channel, The Dirty Donzens.
Mr850 the skit you are talking about with Kim Waynes is when she plays Mrs. Johnson. She would say "If anybody ask where you heard it, you didn't hear it from me" But I liked mostly all of the skits on the show. My favorite characters were Homey the Clown, Fire Marshall Bill (especially the skit when they re-open the store after the LA Riots "This is not a fire!!!") Mrs. Johnson, & I think his name was Tyrone (the cardboard box guy that Damon Waynes played, with skits like This Old Box where is added an addition to his cardboard box with another box by punching a whole in the original box) Those were some of my favorite characters. Plus I liked the diner skits when Tommy Davidson would be cooking & come out every so often & say "Pick it up" that was funny as hell!
Worthless Trivia: In "Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinkin Your Juice In Da Hood" Kim Waynes playes Mrs. Johnson in that too. She is the cryin' mamma. She is in the movie in the beginning & for a very short time.
I too loved Ms. Bonita, "Don't you say nuttin bad bout Miss Jenkins!!!!", I love her music pardys also her as Crystal Waters was classic. I also very much loved ugly Wanda, that is what I loved most about the show, I loved the men on films and handi man. The Wayans family are comic gods and they deserve more credit and praise.
Amen, joineejt...Forget about the rest of it, people...all you gotta know is Jim Carrey as Fire Marshall Bill...and as for Kim Wayans' character talking about Ms. Jenkins, her line is, "...but I ain't one to gossip, so you ain't heard that from me..."
Sulu: Captain, my sensors tell me there's a deadly gas emanating from the engine room.
Kirk: Scotty?
Scotty: (OS) Aye, Cap'n?
Kirk: (Pausing dramatically) ...What's going on down there?!
Scotty: (OS, panicked) Captain, I've lost complete control of my bowels!
Kirk: You should be wearing your (pats his left hip) Starfleet Depends.
Scotty: (OS, voice straining) Aye, Captain, but I've sprung a leak, an' I can't hold it much longerr!
And when Sulu has a heart attack
Kirk: (Yelling) Mr. Sulu!... Get.. us... out of here!
Sulu stops, spasms suddenly, and flops back in his chair.
Kirk: God, he's flatlining again! (Walkers over to Sulu, muttering) I told him to take the nitro pills. (He grabs a pair of defibrillator paddles, places them on Sulu's chest) Clear!
Ka-Choom!
Sulu: Uhyah! (he spasms then sits back up, back to his console, as if it had never happened) Aye aye, sir.
I do remember that one clearly. One of the great gags in that skit is when he says to the couple "Watch this...birdies peck, peck peck! Then a person runs by them covered with attacking birds. He then says something like "I'd like to see Hitchcock top that!"
I LOVE Hey Mon, but I can only catch it when I'm on vacation from my "terteen job".LOL.My favorite however is the Snackin' Shack where Jim and Kelly go to this raggedy diner and of course hilarity ensues. That's good stuff, especially when Tommy's character gives people stuff they don't order and Kim is the waitress. Does anyone else have that as their fave?
My favorite clips from "In Living Color" are the Men On Film skits. When Keenen Wayans and David Grier would perform those scenes and their theme song "Raining Men" would play I would laugh so hard! I also always enjoyed Homie Da Clown and the Fire Marshall Bill skits. The “Fly-Girl” dancers, especially "J-Lo" sucked! And lastly, I would just like to get this out in the air...This was and is the only time that Jim Carrey has ever been funny. No joke!
I'd have to say that I enjoyed many sceens I like including Fire Marshal Bill, Hommy the Clown but the one that always got to the was a scetch of Men On Books, when they did a review of Moby Dick, that was the first time I heard them say "Hated it" I think I was like 7 or 8 at the time and to this day I am still laughing whenever I remember that moment.
Although no one mentioned it I would have to say Background Boy w/ Jim Carrey is one of my favorites. Although there is no "real" dialogue, Jim Carrey plays a person way too excited to see a TV camera. He dances, makes faces, and dresses up behind a reporter that doesnt realize he is there. I also liked the skit where everyone had butts for faces.
David Allen Grier as he walks into the house: "Goddamn!! It smells like foot and ass in this house!"
The one where Jim Carrey plays Mr. Rogers and he goes around harassing people at a video store. Especially the women. "I like to stick my head between those hooters and go (blows his lips together)"
America's Funniest Security Camera home videos - "She could have been a hostage but her heart wasn't in it."
Tom and Tom: The Brothers Brothers - These are two of the corniest brothers on the planet. "No see, we are the brothers brothers. Ur just some angry black guy that came on our show"
Wanda: The first two episdoes always have me on the floor. But one of the best skits was where Wanda goes on this dating game and Shawn plays the smooth bachelor, David plays this borish bachelor and Tommy is the winner. He always ends up with her.
Homey Claus: "What? U tryin' to have a special moment with me"
The Dysfuctional home show where Jim Carrey plays the drunk father of this really screwed up family. His daughter is a slut who married this black guy that Jim hates. "U black bastard". The best one is where he thinks his mom died and they have this really messed up funeral for her. Turns out she was just drunk. "Oh no. Not another funeral. This is the third one this year"
Veera Demilo, the female steroids body builder: Best one was the Conan The Barabian spoff. "I don't understand a word ur sayin'. What kinda langauge is that" "It is my native tongue. Dislexia."
Funky Finger Productions, Ms. Benita (I anit one of the gossip so anit heard that from me. No u haven't), Anton Jackson("would u like to break beard" "Why not, I just broke wind"), Fire Marshall Bill, Homeboy Shoppin' Network, Frency(Think RIck James with a high voice), Handi Man, Micheal Jackson's "Am I black or white" video... damn, I just love the show. Except for the last season. That new cast RUINED IT!
i love EVERYTHING in living color, but to this day sometimes i feel like blurting out "PORK AND BEANS" in the voice jim carrey did in the dysfunctional home show
I liked the sketch with Jim Carrey playing some old dude with a juice addiction. "Now here's a little bag of grabage I found on my neighbours lawn" Also when Homey did the alphabet with the kindergardeners.
