The best? maybe Dre, but he made a mistake: EMINEM, so snoop, na, he raps with EM, 2pac, he was a good one. The worst? "pi diddy" i cant stand fakness: i ll be missing you, fatty. Yea sure.
worst rappers ever: all the new ones that came out since 2002 but i hafta admit kanye and the games the only two that i respect nowadays but just like someone sed before im oldschool as hell and hearin all this stuff on the radio like 50 cents gangsta wannabe stuff is tiring i mean he says he was shot 9 times but according to his former best friend (bang em smurf) he was only shot 3 times and thats in his cheek, hand and in his leg obviously not that life threatning but still i hate how these ppls comin out with dumb stuff like Dem Franchise Boys and D4L when is real rap gonna come back???? Rakims makin a new cd so hopefully hes gonna bring back some old school vibes and not sell out like LL Cool J
I listen to rap, and I have to say, the MAJORITY of rappers, especially now, all suck. They're music may be cool as far as beats, but in general, they suck:
JA RULE & FAT JOE = tied for worst ever!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike Jones 50 cent P. Diddy Vanilla Ice Paul Wall Sean Paul T.I.
But who's any good? -Common -Tupac -Kanye West (even though he's mad conceited) -Jay-Z -Nas -The Fugees
Snoop Doggy Dog 50 Cent Fat Joe Chingy Andre 2000 Gerardo Busta Rhymes Sir Mix-a-lot Tony Toni Tone(or something like that) Jermanie Dupri Mariah Carey Lil Kim Junior M.A.F.I.A
pfft whoever's saying ll cool j is one of the worst rappers obviously wasn't around back in the day.Back in the mid 80's he was at the top of the game along with public enemy and run dmc.Classics like Rock the bells,Bad,Radio,i could go on...he has paid his dues and got nothing to prove especially to no acne-ridden kids like you.Just thought i'd set the record straight, not on his dick so dont get it twisted!!!
Did you see the footage of Jah Rule in South Africa in a Press Conference. When asked if he'd be be visiting the Townships he was like - "Is that like a club?"
Dude...did you even listen to the Black Album? All he does is rap about his money? You need to go back and do some serious research before you make blatantly ignorant claims like that. To an above poster: The Game has some skill, albeit not as much as a lot of other rappers out there, but he definitely does not belong on the list of the worst ever. To anyone saying Eminem: you have got to be kidding me. Seriously...have you even listened to his music? And then someone said everybody on "Still Tippin'" was garbage: I'll agree that Dyke Jones blows, but Paul Wall ain't bad. Not great, but not horrible either. My list is as follows:
Skee-Lo, NOT Cee-Lo (even though I think the song is hilarious) Silkk the Shocker was really bad Kris Kross Lil Flip is now, but his album Undaground Legend was REALLY good Muck Sticky (local Memphis white dude that little redneck kids think is great...man he blows) Pharrell
After I posted this I saw where somebody said Andre 3000. You have got to be kidding me. The man is a f@ck!n genius dude. Arguably one of the best emcees to ever grace the mic. I dare say he is one of the most underrated lyricists EVER.
"I will not cease from mental fight Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand..."
first of all, everyone on no limit was bad (except maybe mystikal) but even snoop dogg sucked on no limit (like he does now). however, here's my list:
1.vanilla ice 2.nick cannon (i can't believe no one has mentioned him) 3.kriss kross 4.cameron 5.duff paddy (i can't believe this necrophiliac is still in the music business) 6.mike jones & chamillionare
p.s. i moved to waco, tx in 2002. i was listening to my dilated peoples cd when this kid i bought weed from said, "hey check this out! in waco we listen to houston hip-hop!" he proceded to play the dumbest rap song i've ever heard.....it was mike jones. "mike jones! who? mike jones," that was the whole song, he just repeated that for like 3 minutes and the beat was even worse. it sounded like they made it with a $20 casio keyboard and a *beep* drum machine. i almost pissed my pants i was laughing so hard. chamilionare came out later, he was really bad (had terrible rhyme flow). same *beep* beats as mike jones, but all he did was talk *beep* about mike jones. it's so funny to see them on t.v. knowing how *beep* they were (still are). however, dj screw is the *beep* that guy was so good at djing. i have this cd of him like circa 93, it is bananas! he put house dj's to shame with his mixing skills. i mean, he was mixing four beats at the same time (sounded damn good) and you could hear him *beep* up at one part, but he just corrected it instantly. crazy!
Haven't heard Chamillionaire at all yet, but he did give Weird Al some prime material.
This list is pretty wacked. The real worst rappers are the ones that NO ONE remembers (and doesnt want to)....
Rap has become the new pop, and many new rappers are in it just for the money, making their product forgettable, which is why there is so much crap out there nowadays. There was probably equally as much crap 15 years ago, but it mostly never made it on vinyl.
Andre 3000's flow is special, the black album is one of my favourites. Eminem is one of the all time greatest rhymers although some of the *beep* he raps about is a bit f@cked. i'm gonna get punked for that last part but its true.
Vanilla Ice is the best ever! Everyone is on the 1991 bandwagon, gosh 3rd bass was the worst, look who got the last laugh out of that! it wasn't mc serch who lost his job on the radio, Vanilla Ice is still selling huge stacks of records and his shows are off the hook!!!
How can you put Andre 3000 in with the rest of those rediculous clowns? His singing is not good, but he is one of the finest rappers of all time, undeniably. Have you even heard "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik"? That entire album should satisfy any non-believer. You just probably heard of Outkast this year. Try looking a little deeper.
I find it funny how people put Vanilla Ice down. First off he can't be so bad if he has one of the largest followings in the WORLD. His albums sell huge when they are released. Plus, if it wasn't for him then you wouldn't have Eminem (who I can't stand). That's right, I said Vanilla Ice paved the way for Marshall. In an interview Ice one time said "If it wasn't for me there would be no Eminem. He wouldn't know what NOT to do to get over. The record label messed me up so bad that you have to learn the right way to promote a white rapper."
Plus Ice, Kottonmouth Kings and the Insane Clown Posse have all sold more albums and have made more money then almost any other rapper in the game. Right now they are the three biggest underground rappers/groups around.
I also dare anyone who was listening to music back in the early 90's to say that they didn't like Ice Ice Baby. You all rocked it when it came out, and now bash it. It's the popular thing to do, bash V-Ice, but I'm going do the unpopular thing and say this...I own all 5 Vanilla Ice albums, and LOVE all of them.
The Beastie Boys came before all of them. In my opinion they paved the way for white rappers.
Vanilla Ice definitely made his mark... no doubt... but I don't think he has the right to take credit for Eminem's success. At best Vanilla Ice had marginal talent while no rapper/mc out there (regardless of colour) will never deny Eminem's talent.
I did like Ice Ice Baby when it came out. If he left it at that and didn't cheese out by making that cartoon of a video or worse off that movie... a good producer may have helped him develop into something different.
I'm surprised in all of this no one has mentioned the infamous "MC Miker G and DJ Sven" who did the "Holiday Rap". I remember hearing that on the radio. It was notoriously bad. It was as if the guys from Alphaville suddenly decided to go gangsta' on us, with horrifying results.
