If Dazed and Confused was made in 2022, it would be based in 2005
If Dazed and Confused (1993) was made today, it would be based in 2005 (1976)
Makes you feel old.
I was a teenager in the 00's and things were not that different from what you see in Dazed and Confused. The getting beat up by the seniors as a freshman was a thing then too, and so managing to score cigarettes/alcohol when you looked old enough, etc. Although Dazed and Confused is set in the 70's, I think it's a movie that people of all generations and ages can relate to in at least some sense and it's a timeless classic.
