RoboCop Remake vs. Total Recall Remake

Same IMDB score, same domestic gross nearly, originals shared same director. Personally for me, hands down the Robocop remake was way better than the Total Recall remake. Supporting acting, special effects and story was way better in the new Robocop compared to the new Total Recall. Robocop 7/10 Total Recall 4/10.

The Total Recall remake has Kate Beckinsale in it and me personally I would drink her bath water. Total Recall remake imo is better but the RoboCop remake was pretty good. neither of them though were better than the Paul Verhoeven films ofc.

You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

Robocop, BY FAR. I was actually pleasantly surprised by it, and I'm a fan of the original. Total Recall remake, on the other hand, is pure *beep*

I liked the Total Recall remake a bit better. It was quite generic and had its stupid moments, but overall it was a decent and enjoyable film. I liked the casting and many of the action scenes.
RoboCop had a very good first act, but the rest of the story was poorly written and the action sequences were disappointing.

Total Recall (2012): 6.7/10
RoboCop (2014): 6/10

Robocop wins

Simply because it was actually good.

Robocop 6.5/10

Total Recall 4/10

reply

Total Recall now has a slightly higher rating.

reply

they were pretty much on the same level. both just shadows of the previous films and both just slightly below mediocre if seen as their own entities. they could have been worse, they also could have very easily been much better.

reply

They deserved to be much better. . . . and less neutered.

reply

yeah, that's true. it's actually puzzling how they could end up that mediocre. especially the robocop formula is so unlikely to mess up.

reply

total remake is much better than robocop, one of the worst remake movies.

reply

Both 1/10.

reply

They both suck ass.
1-10. PG-13 studio remake failures.
