what is the hand syndrome?

I watched the whole season..did I miss something?

It wasn't explained apart from the deputy was worried about passing it on to his kid, I thought it was Huntingtons, something we're aware of obviously but the population of the Silo wouldn't be due to historical records being destroyed in the rebellion.

reply

Huntington or the result of inbreeding... 🤔

reply

Possibly but every woman has a contraceptive implant, couples had to apply to become pregnant and even then the government and judicial were only allowing compliant less resistant people to actually get pregnant. The doctor was involved in that conspiracy and admitted to it towards the end.

Inbreeding was probably another reason to heavily regulate the population and who and when they could have a child.

reply

During that revolution probably also the family trees get lost. Then it is more guessing than knowing who might be compatible...

reply

I dint get it too. They kept bringing attention to that like it was something Mega Important. But it was so boring that I just ignored it.
It feels like they just needed some plot point for deputy and give him something to do. Useless character.

reply

It is a side-effect of the vaccine obviously.

reply

I just assumed it was a genetic defect that he wanted to hide at all costs, as those would be frowned upon in the Silo populace, not to mention losing one’s job or position potential.

reply

Magic sauce side effect.
