most Muslims would say they believe in the same God as Christians

Although it is never revealed whether being a Muslim made a difference, the majority of Muslims would say they worship the same God (Allah) as Christians and vice versa. So IMO Muslims would also be at risk according to the definition that believing in God attracts the trolls. Most Muslims also believe in Jesus as a prophet as well. Though I know nothing more about the folklore than what was presented in the movie.

And Hans also asks if she believes in "Jesus or God."

Muslims, of course, believe in God - the same one as Christians - but they also revere Jesus as a prophet. So it's quite possible that a troll would sniff out a Muslim too.

reply

Obviously trolls don't see it the same way, and theirs is the only opinion that matters.

Jesus and God are the same thing to a Christian.

What we have here is failure to communicate!

reply

Not really true because Christians believe that Jesus actually is God and believe in the Trinity. Muslims vehemently deny both of those things. The ferry tales did say that trolls could smell the blood of a "christian" man, not of all theists.

It's not believing in God that they can smell, it's believing in Christ. Being a Christian.

Many professing Muslims are clueless about what Islam is, just as there are many professing Christians who are clueless about what Christianity is....

Muslims don't believe in the divinity of Christ. Therefore, they are not Christian.

The particular God in which they believe is irrelevant.

Peace.

That had not occurred to us, Dude.
