WHY did she not ask for a lawyer???

This makes no sense to me. Whether she did it or not, always ask for a lawyer. She screwed herself. I am not sure of Canada laws, but I assume they would be allowed a lawyer. Crazy.

Naivety, ignorance, lack of common sense, lack of objectivity, wanting something too much, hubris, denial, stunted maturity due to living
a lie of a lifestyle for x amount of years, having a victim mentality so ingrained she expected others to feel how she felt and probably on a constant basis…., and this sort of thing happens all the time, people speaking to the police without a lawyer, nothing new.

I guess you are right. Just blows my mind. I've seen enough tv shows that I know the first and only words out of my mouth ever if questioned is LAWYER! I guess I'm kinda glad she didn't ask for one. She might of gotten away with it.

You’re right of course, as I am the same way, having paid attention to news media sources, TV, film, youtube…., LAWYER will be the ONLY words coming out of my mouth in relation to any sort of investigative questioning coming from the police or similar entity, for worse or better, mother fuckers will hem you up even if you’ve acted heroically and attempted to or even saved someone’s life.
See Daniel Penny, the man was simply trying to do the right thing against a violent, mentally unstable individual who was verbally threatening to do harm to others.

She should’ve known they suspected her when they called her back for a 3rd interview. She may have thought that she could fool police, they way she had fooled her parents about going to college, but it didn’t hold up to scrutiny. She was good at faking the emotion, but I don’t think she was intelligent. A lot of what she said didn’t make sense.

reply

Agreed. At first her emotions played well and fooled everyone. But after she got questioned, her emotions couldn't get her thru it all. Amazing, sad story.

reply

Yep. Why not ask lawyer? Specially when she saw they were on to her.

I’m actually surprised that police could get on to her. She seemed completely believable in her story. To the point that she actually showed how she could get her phone from her pocket while being tight up. It was looking plausible. And 3 men really went into the house as seen on neighbor surveillance.

She did not look guilty to me.

But plan was stupid. They all had their conversations in their phones... Like why on earth? Of course police would eventually check it. Just in case.

Like she could ask them to kill her dad on the street during fake robbery. And no one would get to her.
