Terrible Fight scenes. Fight choreographer needs to be fired.

So slow and awkward, unnecessary wire work. It's like they are a first time amateurs trying to duplicate the magic of Chinese Kung Fu movies and failing miserably.

And I know it's not about the casting of Finn Jones b/c they made it work with Charlie Cox in Daredevil. Somethings just off, maybe it's that Dexter director who bit off more than he could chew.

What annoyed me the most, is that he is suppose to be this martial artist superhero, he even stated in one of the first episodes he would not be able to get hit. And than he constantly is getting his butt handed to him in every episode. He was in a monastery for 15 years perfecting his craft and he can't even take on the basic thugs without issues. I know they are trying to make it look like he is learning in the first season but they are making him look really weak.

reply

That was ridiculous for me, too. At one point, he's invincible against 10 people, at another he's getting creamed by one thug.

Yup pretty much my biggest beef. I've said this before, if you sat down an uninitiated person and showed them Daredevil and Iron Fist, which do you think they would think is the premier martial artist of the Marvel Universe? Yeah we all know the answer to that question. The major problem is the show runners didn't understand the character, and refused to put him in a costume. If they put him in a costume, the mask would have allowed for a stunt double who could fight believably. Finn was a horrible choice, he had a few weeks basically to learn the dance moves...I mean fight choreography. No one could reasonably expect him to be believable on screen with that little training. So how the dumb shits running the show couldn't see that as a problem has turned Danny Rand into the biggest joke in the current Marvel Universe.

reply

A mask wouldn't help, because the weakest scenes were the ones where he stood full frontal, where they couldn't use a mask. They did use a double for most of the scenes where you couldn't see his face.

reply

There was nothing wrong with the fight scenes.

except your eyesight.

reply

You're imagining things. A few people I know personally love the show and don't understand why people hate it so much. Also, the audience ratings are great on Rotten Tomatoes. Whatever, thanks for your opinion.
