Good luck! I hope you enjoy it despite some flaws! In Wolverine Origins he looked to be 10-12 years old in 1845, so by the time Logan comes about, he's almost 200 years old, 195-197 years old. I just checked and it seems like it is down. Perhaps there are new updates? But just to let you know, a lot of the missing archives here on Movie Chat that were on IMDB Archive are now on here as well. There are still a number missing archives, especially for actors but it is a big improvement! Magneto has a very interesting background. How was he released or was freed from the NAZIS? What happened to him after? Also Magneto had the most badass entrance in First Class, people loved his James Bond persona, it would be interesting to focus on that. And Fassbender is still young enough to be able to pull off a prequel spin off like that. I also prefer Fassbender over McKellen's Magneto tbh. I agree he was getting old but the scientist released some type of poison that targeted mutants only. It is why there are a few mutants left and why no new mutants are being born. The poison was released and distributed innocuously in food and drink products like cereals. Logan was also affected and like the previous poster said, was constantly fighting the poison he unknowingly consumes 24/7. If he leaves the city, drinks from a fresh stream and hunts and farms his own food, he could probably eventually be released from those poisonous toxins in his body. But as long as he continues to drink and eat the poisons that are hidden daily, his body will focus on eliminating them 24/7 and is probably over-taxed. She's emotionally underdeveloped, kept in a lab without learning any social cues nor seeing all those fun goodies you experience at 5 and get it out of your system by 8. He didn't show any obvious sympathies towards the family, he was more focused on Charles. He was probably desensitized by then though. I prefer a Magneto movie with Michael Fassbender prior to Fist Class as a James Bond-ish character. We stayed as well for the post credits scene but I was thinking they might skip it as this was supposed to be the final Hugh Jackman Logan. I felt bad for that family. Logan knew they were putting that family in danger but the Professor insisted on it and perhaps he was just too tired to listen to his conscience and made a careless mistake. I felt bad for the kid the most. Also, didn't the scientist mentioned some type of poison infused in everyday drinks & food like cereal that probably has been infesting his body and affecting his abilities. I agree. I don't think he's rally dead either. He was clearly weakened by the poisons in his body and that would slow down his regenerative abilities but I doubt it's gone. He's like a vampire like Lestat, a living dead 6 feet under but he can come back IMO. If the director & writers wanted him truly dead, he would've been decapitated or they would've used an adamantium weapon, like that bullet, against him. Same with me! Now several Valentino films and 2 obscure Valentino biopics have archival messages here! Of coarse I immediately went there and started posting on old posts! It made me so happy you cannot believe! LOL! I agree on everything you said. As for the casting of Finn, maybe it's just the editing. They need to up their game in season 2 because I want this show to succeed. I like it but if it has so many problems in its first season, I'm afraid it will go downhill if they don't remedy it asap! continued....... http://cdn-static.denofgeek.com/sites/denofgeek/files/styles/main_wide/public/2017/02/ynzhloql_0.jpg?itok=5iVWVeCx Now look at Bruce Lee: http://lasvegastoppicks.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Bruce-Lee-Las-Vegas-Top-Picks.jpg Tom Pelphrey in Banshee: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/76/b4/ee/76b4eefac34421366703644b37f28c54.jpg There were a million ways he could've gone, and he didn't need to be as ripped as Bruce Lee but a little muscle definition would've sold his character as a warrior. Now I hope you don't get me wrong as I've gone on and on about my criticisms of the show. Because I do like it and enjoy it. The show has a lot of promise and can be a great show if simply remedied for its second season. -edit the fight scenes better -get a better fight choreographer -train the actors better with specific fighting styles in order to sell them as fighters -tweak the dialogue of Finn to suit the limitations of the actor If they do this and continue with the interesting story and character driven plots, then I think this show can be a lot better than what it is. The fact that I marathoned a 13 episode show within 2 days shows that regardless of its flaws, it has lot going for it! I wrote a long thorough reply and it was deleted. Sigh. Here goes. Admittedly, I've only seen Daredevil but Daredevil is infinitely better than this show, I haven't seen the others. I decided to watch this because the trailer intrigued me. I'll give you my honest review of this show and leave it up to you if you want to watch this or not. First, I enjoy the show, why? Because of the plot. I find the plot highly intriguing and exciting. I like the side characters and side plots revolving around these side characters. On another thread, someone mentioned how boring the Meachums were BUT I disagree very strongly. I think they are the best part of the show, with the strongest and most complex characters. But amongst them, the highlight, not only of the Meachums, but of the entire show is Tom Palphrey. Tom Palphrey plays a childhood friend of Danny Rand, the main protagonist played by Finn. Palphrey is what sells this show for me. His acting and his character is what sells this show despite its problems. I won't say more on Palphrey as not to spoil it for you. But just to let you know, both the plot/story and the character of Ward as played by Palphrey has made me binge watch this show within 2 days. Now the negatives. The actor Finn playing the title character is weak weak weak. His dialogue makes me cringe. Perhaps it's the writing since he has to say mystical monk-ish quotes, BUT perhaps a better actor would've sold such a line. He cannot sell his lines in any convincing manner. His acting is unfortunately glaringly weak. he is the weakest in this show. Here, all the anti-heroes, the villains, the side characters outshine him. And like Thor - the antihero character (Loki) steals the spot from the main lead - namely Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum. I have mentioned before, on another site, that this show would've benefited greatly if Pelphrey was instead chosen as the Iron Fist - Danny Ward. Pelphrey has range, charisma, and intensity that Finn has none of. Pelphrey can convey vulnerability and innocence, yet can also convincingly portray menace and cunning. He can portray a badass fighting warrior, as well as a buttoned up rich guy with Daddy issues. And most of all, he can pull off a monk from the streets, who slept in a dirty mat for 15 years, and who has been secluded in some isolated temple away from civilization. I know he can sell this because I have glimpsed such potential in both this show and a show called Banshee. Banshee is a terrible show btw, only Pelphrey is its saving grace. But here are 2 links that showcases the extreme range and intensity of Tom Pelphrey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAjAXUaCZuE&t=45s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QvuHSslKjY BUT Pelphrey isn't the protagonist of the show, instead he plays Ward Meachum who, although isn't the main character, is able to bring such depth to his character. A character not meant to be sympathetic but is because of Pelphrey's abilities. In Banshee, he also plays another anti-hero - an ex neo-NAZI - tattooes all over his body, and yes he wins the audience over despite of it. So, would his character be as interesting if he had not played it? Who knows? But this show is a must see just for Pelphrey alone IMO. Aside from Finn's weakness, the fight scenes are also weak. And this is a great detriment to a show that has a lot of fight scenes. The fight scenes are slow, sluggish, and extremely awkward. You can see the fighters waiting for every kick/punch and that does not make a great fight scene. The problem IMO lies in the director, the director simply doesn't know how to film and edit action scenes such as this and it really harms a show that focuses much on its fight scenes. It doesn't help that the actor Finn looks extremely weak and feeble, when he is supposed to be a special warrior trained since childhood through extreme hardship for 15 years. Why does the actor look weak and feeble? I can only assume it is because that is the look or physique Finn is going for. Finn here looks like a cherub, too pretty to sell a monk raised to sleep on dirty mats and endure hard labor for 15 years. He looks to belong in a facial commercial advertising toners and moisturizing creams, a metrosexual who gets his nails done every week at a salon. He should've made up for this by working on a grittier physique. And the actor himself didn't want to get too bulky and muscular, he wanted a slimmer body which I find understandable. But when we say slim, I assumed it would be like Bruce Lee slim. Petite yet extremely toned and ripped - Finn did not look anything close to that at all. He looked too weak with little to no muscle definition whatsoever, with gangly arms to boot. Pelphrey was slim and toned in Banshee and clearly lost weight for his role in this. Finn should've gone for that physique if he wanted to remain petite, but alas, that's not what we have. Below is what Finn looks like on the show btw I actually like that family and their storyline, I think the actor playing Ward is the strongest on the show and his character has the most depth. This reminds me of Thor where the anti-hero-ish villain is charismatic and steals the spotlight from the mediocre main character because the actor simply isn't as good. I agree. I actually would like the colorization here to be akin to what they did in The Wizard of Oz, colorize the Ireland scenes and leave the NY scenes in b/w. I love Brigadoon! And yes both this and The Quiet Man remind me of Brigadoon actually. Of course this film has the hotter leading man by far! The book is far more racist with an unsympathetic heroine, so this was infinitely better. Also, the exotic-zation and stereotypes portrayed here are not as malicious as the many we see of Arabs in present films.
