I saw it. It has some problems, definitely one of the weaker films of the series. I thought the ending sorta saved it though, outrageous as ever, just not as fast paced as I was hoping for.

Eh, it was probably all for promotion. I've heard them both say that they want to do more movies in the franchise so I would assume whatever has happened has already blown over.

It will be an interesting November. This will basically have 2 weeks to make as much money as possible and then and only then will it face stiff competition from Justice League and that will bring it into Thanksgiving weekend where family stuff usually does good business. So those 2 weeks really do feel like they will be key.

Thor hasn't been my favorite Marvel character so far but this looks like a hell of a lot of fun, especially the gladiator matchup between Hulk and Thor.

Visually I think Gravity comes through a bit better but this film I think has the better conflict.

I agree. I feel like the conflict at the center of the film it was made it a cut above a regular romantic space drama. I felt for Chris Pratt's character and understood his decision and was very surprised at people who called it rapey.

I had problems with the ending too. So in the end was the goal to hypnotize black people or lobotomize them? And I got very confused about the final message- was the movie trying to say white people are still racist toward blacks or are they trying to point out the advantage of trying to be black. It just kinda ended with a big gory blood bath when I think a more psychological approach could have been better. But I liked the movie til then.

Agreed. Liked the look of the alien and some of the effects looked cool but I thought the characters were bland and that the performances very underwhelming.

As you said, i'm just pumped for Covenant. This really just felt ok to me, characters were a bit bland and didn't really care about them too much.

Hiddleston was bad, Goodman was alright, Larsson also had nothing to do. I agree the only interesting characters were Samuel L. Jackson, who gets some backstory, and John C. Reilly, who gives us some exposition. Other than that it's a big cast of some very talented people wasted.

Yes, it seems like Kevin was really his first love. And why not, Kevin was his first friend, first sexual experience, and the only person who he could really confide in and trust. So when he got betrayed by him, i'm sure it hurt.

Yup, and I believe it should have won too. I think it's a movie that resonates, especially with anyone who has ever felt different or in a place where they can never be themselves.

Well said! I loved the old imdb boards as they really let me talk with other movie fans as well as promote my life long dream of reviewing films (i'm now on Youtube) and I am so frustrated and saddened that those boards are down now and these are the people who lent a hand in their downfall to begin with.

It wasn't very good at all. I doubt the Pitt-Jolie marriage ended cause of this though. There were problems with that even before this movie started filming.

Yeah, this movie was a silly spy soap opera. Sometimes the dramatic scenes would be so overdone that it became laughably hard to accept anything in it.
