I remember reading that Talia signed up for the role late in the game after Carrie Snodgress pulled out due to a money dispute. Personally I think Talia is a wonderful actress, however, her most notable acting role was the Godfather which her brother had directed. Maybe she wanted to prove to people that she could be hired for projects that were not associated with her family? Watching the movie right now (February 2017) on cable and that line just came up. That bothered me too about the character. The police officer was trying to help him and you lie and get him imprisoned for six months where he gets beat up? I think they could have come up with a better storyline. I thougt he was adorable People tend to get depressed around the holidays There is a movie "But I am a cheerleader" that basically is a spoof of those gay conversion programs. It is listed as a comedy/drama. Agreed. I think people come to the conclusion that if a man has feminine characteristics they must be gay. I don't think she has the girl next door appeal of a Sandra Bullock, Meg Ryan, Julia Roberts or Cameron Diaz but I do find her to be a likable character in the various roles she had played. I still see her more as a strong supporting actress than a lead actress, but maybe in time. Who the heck thought Tom Hanks of Bossum Buddies (sp?) would have won so many oscars! :) I believe he was a good man. Taught by hard love but he had the best intentions to make his boys strong physically and mentally. Exactly. She used the computer to communicate. I would have just given it to someone on death row. Plus The Fury, Carrie, XMen ... the list can go on and on. I remember watching the Birdcage in the movies and 20% of the audience left when there was a homosexual scene. I am a white female and had no problems with this movie; I have seen it several times. I was not offended at all. I believe she felt defeated and had intended to drink the tea herself. http://www.guns.com/2015/07/02/jeremy-renner-on-guns-i-got-good-at-them-and-then-i-found-a-love-for-them/ Based on this article, it does not appear that he is anti-gun. Yes, it was Julie Bovasso. I didn't know that she died at 61; that was young. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0100566/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t8 Technology has pros and cons. Personally, I don't like the overuse of people's addiction with their cell phones. I remember when I was at sleep away camp in the late 70's/early 80's there was nothing better than getting a long hand-written letter from family and friends. I still find it more personal to send a thank you note in the mail vs. an email. She is great in Fried Green Tomatoes. I liked him a lot in that Cyborg movie with Angelina Jolie. The movie is not great, but I liked his character.
