Bottle Deposit is my favorite episode so I am hereby bound to scoff in your general direction. To me that seems like one of the more grounded Kramer Newman stories.

The rest of season one didn't air until 1990. So you could say the pilot really takes place in early 1990, most of a year later.
If you remember George's diagnosis to Elaine's balding boyfriend he gave a timeframe of 10-14 months from hair to bald so that lines up.

I remember 10-15 years ago Comedy Central would play this movie virtually every day. I suspect the opening with Navin at home and the jungle bunny scene later on are just too non PC for the joyless harpies. Humor has no place in the current dogma.
This is hands down my favorite episode. If you like the concept, David Lynch's Inland Empire is a must watch, as it explores the concept very deeply. His version of the 'person realizing they're a character as the director yells cut and we pull back to reveal the set' scene is one of the scariest things ever filmed.

Agreed. That plus the variety of stories. Well known and obscure cases of all kinds, murder, robbery, missing persons, fraud, even unidentified people, unclaimed inheritance. The occasional paranormal story ranging from ghosts to ufos to cryptids. They covered so much ground and made it all interesting. Many series like this are so one note. UM was always fresh.

I agree with you on Seed. It's so stupid but it's the ultimate guilty pleasure. Plus it's Tilly's biggest role in the series and god is she sexy. What I wouldn't do to her with a turkey baster.
2 is at the top just because you cannot beat Chucky melted to a roller board with a knife for a hand.
Man I hated Cult. It was such a disappointment after how good Curse was. Like a bad tv movie or something by Full Moon.
