Geezluizpapacheese, it was simply a cool idea, not to mention one that was well executed on film and as others have mentioned was elevated even further by a timeless musical number. Was it necessary for Kane to look directly inside an alien egg whilst exploring an overtly ominous derelict ship, was it necessary for Michael to sit back down before shooting Sollazo and McCluskey, was it necessary for Gennaro to leave his vehicle and run to a porta-potty made of straw.....
Mel Gibson is great in everything he does, imo, too young maybe...

Jack wasn’t hitting on Graham, he was trying to connect with Graham, he was alone, scared, desperate and vulnerable. He was crying out for help in a city where no one sees you for who you are, only for what you have that benefits them.
It is possible but I have a feeling you’re confusing fragmented memories of the Bryan Metro character with that of the vampire character from the novel. A few of his scenes from the trailers, especially when left to fester in ones’ memory could easily be mistaken for a vampire type character.
I just watched the film and needed to process a few of my thoughts here on moviechat. I’ve seen it a few times, love the acting and atmosphere, I don’t understand the hate. I posted this question on the board but you know how it goes, may not get an answer for a year. Do you know who or what is on the movie poster? Is that a mannequin, if not is there a reference I’m missing?
One of those films I’ve seen many many times yet always find myself drawn into for another viewing.
At least two of the illustrated pages within the Nine Gates of the Kingdom of Shadows have dogs in them although this may be pure coincidence, what do y’all think?
