Geezluizpapacheese, it was simply a cool idea, not to mention one that was well executed on film and as others have mentioned was elevated even further by a timeless musical number. Was it necessary for Kane to look directly inside an alien egg whilst exploring an overtly ominous derelict ship, was it necessary for Michael to sit back down before shooting Sollazo and McCluskey, was it necessary for Gennaro to leave his vehicle and run to a porta-potty made of straw.....

It is possible but I have a feeling you’re confusing fragmented memories of the Bryan Metro character with that of the vampire character from the novel. A few of his scenes from the trailers, especially when left to fester in ones’ memory could easily be mistaken for a vampire type character.
I just watched the film and needed to process a few of my thoughts here on moviechat. I’ve seen it a few times, love the acting and atmosphere, I don’t understand the hate. I posted this question on the board but you know how it goes, may not get an answer for a year. Do you know who or what is on the movie poster? Is that a mannequin, if not is there a reference I’m missing?

Neither, they’re both supremely talented individuals in my opinion.
I’m not sure if you’re trolling but I feel that the white supremacy bit would detract from the essence of the film, the impending murders, (or so we thought) of Sharon Tate and company.
And I believe it would be redundant as well as an unnecessary bit of exposition as anyone with any knowledge of the Tate murders most likely has a fundamental understanding of Manson’s ideology.
