I actually love this film though even though I want to move into an underground cave everytime I watch it πŸ˜….

For early 80s effects, it still looks so real.

reply

I haven't seen it since it was released and I still get night terrors now when I think of it.

reply

It's on Internet archive if you want to rewatch it πŸ‘

And ruin years of therapy?

reply

I can't disagree at all.

reply

Did you see The Day After? I think it came out a year before Threads. Very similarly movie, except it was based in the US.

reply

I've seen it. I would recommend Threads over The Day After.

Threads is just so shocking to watch, and because it's made partly in a documentary style it adds to the realism.

reply

Yes. Unfortunately, The Day After had a hopeful ending, whereas Threads was more realistically bleak.

"Dancer in the Dark"

reply

very much so . didnt know when i went into it ...

reply

Yeah that was a rough one. I think it was my answer to a recent "Movies you'll never watch again" thread.

Cries and Whispers (1972)
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
Ordet (1955)
Lilya 4-ever (2002)

reply

I second Requiem for a dream. My favourite movie.

reply

People say it's one of those movies you can only watch once, but I've probably seen it 10 times.

reply

Awesome!!

I saw it a good dozen times but mostly because I had all my girlfriends and friends watch it with me.

reply

Oh god, I saw one with Robert redford (I think!) Where he was alone on a stricken boat in the middle of the ocean. Boring and depressing and I don't recommend it at all 😩

reply

All Is Lost (2013). Great movie!

reply

Really?! I'd put it in my top 10 of "never watch again" films πŸ˜•

reply

Yep, love this movie. Outstanding performance by Redford.

reply

We will have to agree to disagree on this I'm afraid 🀭
