Ok, I Need The Opinion Of MC on This

https://www.foxnews.com/sports/caitlin-clarks-boyfriend-3-emoji-response-iowa-stars-outfit-wnba-draft

Here's the situation, I made a comment at FOX that a couple of the photos of Caitlin Clark made her look masculine and I was hammered for it with 2 upvotes to 16 Downvotes and I even paid a compliment to her impeccable Basketball Skills and that she's fantastic, but that wasn't good enough.. What do you think?? Look at the link and the photos, specifically the bottom one where she's at the Music Awards.. I feel like we've become too hypersensitive and can't handle constructive criticism anymore?? 🤔

reply

how is that "constructive criticism"?

reply

I would just ask why you would think it's a compliment to say that the photo made her look masculine. I mean....???? I just don't understand how that is constructive criticism. If it's a photo she posted of herself on her IG or something then maybe I could understand the constructive part of it? She didn't pick the pictures that were posted of her, so are you criticising Fox here? Because it seems that you are insulting her appearance.

Now I'm sure you care going to call me sensitive or what ever, but it just seems like when calling a woman masculine looking, it's a bit of an insult, especially in this time with trans issues being in the forefront of societal issues, and when commenting on a foxnews story. So what did you think was going to happen?

reply

> I was hammered for it with 2 upvotes to 16 Downvotes
> I feel like we've become too hypersensitive

lol

reply

I'd hit it.

reply

Desperate? She's a dog.

reply

Vikings have fucked dogs before. Hel I'd fuck you, too. Even though you probably look like a worm with glasses.

reply

Just because someone doesn’t share your opinion, it doesn’t make them hypersensitive.

reply

One can't help but to think and feel that way for making such an innocent comment that some famous female basketball player looked masculine in some of her photos on FOX and you would've thought I ran over this woman's dog for Christ sake?? Sorry, but I'm standing firm on this and believe we live in a very pussified society where this new generation are simply weak

reply

No worries - I have no vested interest in this instance (a comment about an athlete who I am unaware of, on a site that I don’t use, by people that I don’t know).

Nevertheless, manners cost nothing.

reply

💯

reply

Basically the downvotes mean ,
"Look at this dick using his right to free speech and entitlement to voice his opinion to just shit on a women who is a sports hero and has achieved more than he ever will by insulting her looks"

In other words - its just not polite.

reply

No, it's look at me, I can voice my freedom of speech to voice my opinion of how masculine this sport's hero is and still compliment her in her skills in the WNBA while also shitting on crybaby soy boys like you and Kowalski and watching you get your panties in a twist over it

reply

its not us two , its all those downvotes " 2 upvotes to 16 Downvotes " , meaning 7 out of 8 (87.5 %) of people share me & K's opinion.

You started the crybabying when you started the thread complaining that insulting a womans looks wasnt as well received as you'd hoped.

reply

Because people should be entitled to their opinion and YES, this is a free country and freedom of speech so maybe you need to develop a thicker skin instead of whining about me saying this chick looked masculine in the photos shown?? How about it??

reply

LMAO...THE OUTRAGE IS STRONG IN THIS ONE.🙂

reply

How is it outrage?? Saying I'm entitled to my opinion and this being my freedom of speech?? You're the wanker who 1st chimed in on the whole thing and the worst of it is, is that Samoajoes warned me of your knucklehead nonsense when it came to this sort of thing.. I regret not listening to him

reply

LMAO...YOU HAVE SPENT THIS ENTIRE THREAD PREACHING ABOUT FREE SPEECH AND BITCHING ABOUT RESPONSES YOU DON'T AGREE WITH.

MAYBE TAKE A BREAK,CHAMP.

reply

The irony is strong in that one

reply

Being downvoted doesn't mean your freedom of expression is being denied.

You speak of people needing thicker skins. Are you not displaying a thin skin yourself here?

reply

Because people should be entitled to their opinion

You are. But you have no constitutional right for freedom from consequence. And nobody is obliged to listen to your opinions. You aren't entitled to that.

reply

There's simply too many overly sensitive people in this world now.. This is a weak generation.. What did all of you do when Simon Cowell on Season 1 of American Idol tore the contestants a new ass citing they couldn't sing worth a fuck? How would you all have reacted to this, depending on how old you were at the time that show was on 20 years ago?? Did a young Kowalski throw his TV across the room when Cowell cut someone down??

reply

You're the person who made a thread complaining about downvotes on another website.

reply

I'm not sure how this miniature rant relates to what I wrote really.

reply

SAYS THE GUY WHO IS UPSET EVERYONE DOESN'T AGREE WITH HIM....COME ON...LET'S DROP THIS NEGATIVE CRAP.

reply

Actually, there are a few who do agree with me, but they're lying low to watch you meltdown over my comment

reply

YEAH...WE HAVE NUMEROUS PEOPLE HERE WHO THINK FREE SPEECH MEANS YOU GET TO YELL ANY WEIRD OR STUPID SHIT YOU LIKE WITHOUT HEARING BACK FROM EVERYONE IN EARSHOT.

reply

It works for you and the dumb shit you post and in Uppercase shouting at people, so now what??

reply

YOU DON'T SEEM TO BE COMPREHENDING WHAT YOU READ...FREE SPEEACH IS WONDERFUL...I ENJOY IT QUITE A BIT MYSELF...OBVIOUSLY...I DO NOT CRY FOUL WHEN SOMEONE USES THEIR FREE SPEECH TO DISAGREE OR CHIDE MY WORDS HOWEVER.

reply

I comprehend what I read just fine kid and for someone who can't stand me or my comments, you sure do follow me post to post over it?? 🙄

reply

WHO SAID I CAN'T STAND YOU?....I LIKE YOU QUITE A BIT....WE CLEARLY DISAGREE ON MULTIPLE TOPICS...THAT IS LIFE...DISAGREEMENT DOES NOT HAVE TO BEGET DISLIKE.

ALSO...YOU ARE REPLYING TO ME...THUS SENDING ME A NOTIFICATION...I MAKE AN EFFORT TO RESPOND TO MOST OF NOT ALL REPLIES...GOOD MANNERS AND HELPS THE SITE KEEP MOVING.

reply

What did all of you do when Simon Cowell on Season 1 of American Idol tore the contestants a new ass citing they couldn't sing worth a fuck?

I said to myself what a selfserving prick making money exploiting the dreams of these young hopefuls,by squeezing one in a million through his bland generic music munufacturing machine.
I'm not watching this shit again

unlike you, Cowell didnt start screaming that not everyone liked him because that was his plan, he just raked the money in .

reply

Did anyone throw their phone across the room because of your comments. There was a lot of chatter about what a dick Cowell was all those years ago. You said what you wanted to say, and people didn't like it.

Tell me....did you mean masculine in a positive way? Or did you imply that she was ugly because of it? I'm not saying that you said she was ugly, but calling a woman masculine doesn't usually come with positive connotations.

So....you pretty much insulted someone's looks, and people downvoted you. So?

reply

She’s a great player, but she’s not attractive. This is a major problem that WNBA has. It’s a bunch of masculine and lesbian looking women. Which would be fine if those type of women also supported women’s sports, but they don’t. It’s mostly middle aged men. This league really needs an Anna Kournakova. The baseball league in a league of their own has the right idea.

This is also why I don’t like upvote/downvote systems. It’s just a way for people to silence opinions that they don’t like. I guarantee this comment would get down voted for misogyny, even though it’s true and everyone knows it.

reply

NO...WOMEN'S SPORTS DO NOT NEED TO BE GUIDED BY HORNY DUDES BONERS.

reply

The WNBA is being supported almost exclusively by men. It’s a failed business that loses 10-12 million per year and gets carried financially
By the NBA. The fans that do support it are mostly men. So if men are your target audience, they need more attractive women something the league severely lacks. Now if women wanted to step up and support the league, that would be ideal, but clearly they don’t give a fuck.

reply

And as predictable, you would say this because that's what you do: You go with what's popular and don't stray from that for fear of repercussions and being labeled a Troll over it.. 🙄

reply

I SAY WHAT I THINK...PERIOD

I DON'T NEED MULTIPLE SITES OR STRANGERS RESPONSES TO VALIDATE MY OPINIONS EITHER.

🙂

reply

Oh bullshit.. You create a thread titled KOWALSKI KNOWS EVERYTHING and expect validation from that

reply

NO...I EXPECT POSTS...THAT I CAN RESPOND TO...THUS INCREASING MY POST COUNT AND MAKING THE SITE MOVE.

reply

The site does just fine whether you rack up a post count or not

reply

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TWO THINGS...MY AUTISTIC OCD CONNECTION TO MY POST COUNT...AND POSTS MAKING THE SITE MOVE...BOTH ARE IMPORTANT TO ME...THE SITE DOES WAY BETTER WITH PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF WHO CARE ABOUT THE SITE POSTING.

reply

It's sports, not porn.

>This is also why I don’t like upvote/downvote systems. It’s just a way for people to silence opinions that they don’t like. I guarantee this comment would get down voted for misogyny, even though it’s true and everyone knows it.

Being downvoted doesn't mean your freedom of expression is denied.

reply

I didn’t say anything about porn. But you can look at successful women’s sports, such as the UFC, or women’s Tennis, and there are plenty of attractive women in there. It’s brings eyes to the tv, and it’s makes them more marketable, which is another problem the WNBA has. They all complain about their salaries, but none of those women have any value.

And yes downvoting a comment is a way to suppress expression. It’s just a way to bury any comments that they don’t like.

reply

The attractiveness of them is incidental. Their regimen is focused on training. Are you saying that capable female sportswomen, if they're considered unattractive should be blacklisted from tournaments?

>And yes downvoting a comment is a way to suppress expression. It’s just a way to bury any comments that they don’t like.

By the government? People do it on private websites. That's a part of freedom of expression too.

reply

No I’m not saying that, because I didn’t say it. Sports are merit based, as they should be. Kaitlyn Clark was the first pick, and she deserved it. She’s been the best player in college for the last 2 years. But it would help out if they face of the league was attractive and likeable. You can’t have a successful league when players are constantly showing disdain to anyone that supports them. That goes beyond looks obviously, but the WNBA has a huge problem with their image, and they are a failing business.

I don’t care who is limiting the freedom of expression, i don’t like opinion based modding. In this case it’s Fox News. The majority of the time they are going to be downvoting liberal opinions. I’m not ok with that just because we don’t agree.

reply

Not being attractive to men is "showing disdain" to people who support them?

>I don’t care who is limiting the freedom of expression, i don’t like opinion based modding. In this case it’s Fox News. The majority of the time they are going to be downvoting liberal opinions. I’m not ok with that just because we don’t agree.

It seems like you essentially reject the right of private groups to exist, and establish their own terms of service for engagement.

reply

No, but attacking Andre igodala when he tweeted about the WNBA is showing disdain. Attacking Luca Doncic from an official team Twitter after he did a WNBA promotion for them is showing disdain. Watch any of their reactions to nba players when they suggest lowering the rim. The WNBA has an image problem that goes beyond just looks.

I reject the notion of opinion based moderation in order to control the narrative. Yes there should be tos based on being civil, and respectful. It doesn’t matter who is doing the censorship, or whether I agree with it or not, I don’t like it.

reply

>I reject the notion of opinion based moderation in order to control the narrative. Yes there should be tos based on being civil, and respectful. It doesn’t matter who is doing the censorship, or whether I agree with it or not, I don’t like it.

You can like or not like whatever you like. But it seems to me a private individual or company who makes a forum has every right to run that forum how they like. And if you dislike it, you can use another forum.

reply

I don’t post there, nor would I because of that system. But TC asked for our opinions here about it, so I gave it. In a site like that, you can simply downvote anything that you don’t like.

On a site like this you have to actually put together a coherent argument, and debate someone on their opinion.

I’ll take someone on in a debate, I respect that. But I don’t respect ganging up on people and mass downvoting them like a coward. It’s the equivalent of trying to get the mods to delete opinions that you don’t like so you don’t have to try and debate them.

reply

That's nice. But it's also still an expression of free speech. Private groups have the right to conduct their communities as they see fit, and it's an important part of respecting individuals rights.

reply

attractive women in there. It’s brings eyes to the tv, and it’s makes them more marketable

SO...SEX APPEAL...LIKE PORN.

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT BASKETBALL....A SPORT....ATHLETICS.

reply

This is just a really stupid take. The movie industry casts attractive people, so are all movies porn? Obviously Anna Kendrick doesn’t need to do porn in order for you to simp over her, she just needs to show her pretty face on screen. Now Imagine Anna Kendrick as WNBA player. You wouldn't be more inclined to go to games, if she was playing?

reply

THE MOVIE INDUSTRY IS NOT A GOOD COMPARISON...PLUS THEY CAST "FUGLY" OR "UNATTRACTIVE" ACTORS ALL THE TIME.

BASKETBALL ENJOYING GUYS NEED TO GET OVER THIS PENIS FIRST MENTALITY.

reply

They also cast attractive people too, they have since forever. and you don’t consider that porn. So you argument doesn’t hold up.

And some guys have got past it, and it’s a failing business.

reply

IT'S ACTING...BASED ON CAMERAS FILMING THEIR FACES AND BODIES TO BE VIEWED BY AUDIENCES...LOOKS DO HAVE A DISTINCT VALUE IN THAT PROFESSION....UNLIKE ATHLETICS.

IF IT FAILS IT FAILS...MAKING IT MORE DICK APPEALING TO GAIN AN AUDIENCE WOULD ALSO BE A FAIL.

reply

That is where we disagree, I think looks can have value in a star player, and the WNBA is lacking in that area.

I’m talking about ways to improve the league, and if you don’t care if it fails why even bother posting? Currently it is failing, it’s only being held up by the nba.

reply

IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON THE VERGE OF FAILING...WHICH SUCKS...BUT WHORING THE IMAGE OUT IS NOT A WIN.

reply

What a laughable comparison. Anna Kendrick is obviously going to be hopeless at basketball. Are you suggesting though that if she wanted to, she should be signed up by a major team just because she's attractive?

And by the way the appearance of characters in movies/tv has NOTHING to do with why I watch things.

reply

You are being disingenuous. I was using her as an example because Kowalski slobbers all over her. Obviously her face being on screen is enough for him watch, and it that doesn’t make the movie porn. So it’s a really dumb take to say a few attractive women playing basketball would make it porn. Her Basketball ability is irrelevant to the discussion.

reply

General question, if a highly attractive woman decided she wanted to play basketball - should a professional team sign her up purely because of her appearance?

reply

No, I’m not suggesting that they should turn it into the lingerie football league. Merit has to come first. But when you compare basketball to other more successful women’s sports. Such as Tennis, mma, volleyball, swimming, figure skating, the sport overall lacks attractive feminine women compare those sports.

I know that no one wants to hear this because of misogyny, but it is an issue because no one is watching. You can dismiss men, and say you don’t want to appeal to them, but women aren’t supporting the league either.

reply

“It's sports, not porn.”

Damnit!

reply

It’s a dumb take, and you don’t watch basketball over anyway, let alone women’s basketball.

reply

SEX APPEAL IS NOT A COMPONENT OF ATHLETICS...PERIOD.

reply

Sooo, I 'enjoyed' the complete thread now.
And agree with you. 💯

Yah, I just splashed some water in your face in the other thread, because I saw what you said about me (not to me). That was some days ago and kind of outdated, what doesn't hinder me to take a cold-watery toothbrush to make you jump up a little. 🪥💧💧

Back to the topic.
I'm certainly no angel and when I say that watching handball is nice, cause the handballers look better than the average footballers, it's no surprise that some people will tell me that neither handball nor football is about good looks.

So, the OP is a whiner and if he/she is so concerned about likes/dislikes, then next time just say that woman looks virile. That's less harsh and many don't understand what that means anyhow. 😉

And no, I won't check my 'ingenious' text with a translator now, because I need something to eat. So, it's up to you to crack some jokes about my bad English (again)...your turn. 😜

reply

I was just kidding around.

reply

We need more Asian Babes in basketball.

I approve this 👍
