Heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

1. Minimize outdoor activities.
2. Electrolytes are very important. Eat a little bread and be sure you have Electrolytes entering your body. Otherwise you'll just piss and sweat the water out.
3. Camelbacks are worth the investment. Get one and only keep water and ice in it. Use Gatorade for Electrolytes.
4. Rest, rest, rest. 15 min work, 45 minute rest in Temps over 95.
5. Shower before bed

I've been in multiple deserts during the hottest seasons. I have hypohydrosis so I can't stop sweating. These rules have been why I Don fall out.

P.s. keep the most demanding work to the morning hours. It doesn't always work out but it will reduce the bulk of your issues.

I once paid $12 to get a mystery package from Amazon and got those little head fans that you put around your neck. People can Judge me, I donโ€™t care, but I like wearing it when itโ€™s really hot.

I ha e a small usb fan for my tent and hammock. They're great!

This is why I get pretty strict about either barbecuing for dinner or doing meals with low/no cooking involved during this time of year.

It's the dew point I keep my eye on. Not every forecast includes it, but it's a much more accurate measure of "mugginess" or how humid it *feels*. "It's not the heat, it's the humidity." But really it's the dew point that gets ya.

Stay extra hydrated! Heat exhaustion/stroke is no joke. Wipe with or wear a bandana soaked in ice-cold water around your neck. Put ice packs by any major blood vessels, neck, armpits, crotch [well, upper inner thighs]. And pace yourself!

Predicted high for today is 104. With 80% humidity, it will feel at least like 110. Oppressive! The last record high for this time of the year was 107 in 1937. Three days ago was the official beginning of summer. I guess today will be the official beginning of daily cold showers for me. ๐Ÿ˜…

I think I would probably die with that heat and humidity. Stay hydrated.

reply

Oh yeah! My day started with a tall glass of ice water before anything else. Plus, I've been gradually stocking up on this for weeks, which is touted as superior hydration.

Just do a 7-day water fast and you will feel less warm and you will not have to cook

I live in the San Fernando Valley and there's been way too much heat here. I just don't like summer. ๐Ÿ˜
