Geographic diversity of this board

I hope this is okay to ask but one of the things I looooooved about IMDb was that it drew people from all over the world. 🌎🌍🌏 I learned about other countries from people who actually lived there which is so much more valuable than reading about it in a textbook. I'm just curious what countries people here are from. No need to give specific information like cities (or states if in the US), just countries. Just curious. πŸ™‚

I'm from the US.

reply

I'm from Canada.

reply

Canada

reply

Canada.

reply

You probably think we're joking, but like the others, I'm Canadian too.

reply

I'm from the UK

reply

I'm from the UK, but I can pretend to be from Canada if it helps.

reply

I live in Los Angeles. Never a dull moment here!

reply

And you have time to be here !

reply

I'm from the US -- Los Angeles -- but I have family in Canada and can pretend to be from there too...

reply

We don't claim him!^^^

reply

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I'm from California and love it here

I am wondering if this board has a disproportionate number of Canadian members, considering the smaller population of Canada. I'm sure there are more Americans here, but it seems like Canadians are overrepresented.

reply

India has a population of 1.4B people and yet there hasn't been a single soccer player of significance. Sometimes the proportion just doesn't add up.

reply

Michael Phelps has won more gold medals than India, Bangladesh and Pakistan together

reply

That's pathetic.

reply

They don't like sports, perhaps they avoid being competitive. No people is obliged to like swimming, boxing or track and field.

reply

They like cricket.

reply

Cricket just looks like clumsy baseballlπŸ˜„

reply

Pretty much.
The biggest difference is the match time , somebody thought "hmm I reckon 3 days is about the right amount of time for a game of cricket"

reply

A lot of MLB games feel like they go on for daysπŸ˜„

reply

Yeah, and yoga and some other sports but not the Olympic Games. I don't remember ever seeing an Indian or Gypsy swimmer or cyclist. Browns, blacks don't have the spirit of swimming or bicycling etc. in them.

reply

Even a few thousand though? Even Canada has made the World Cup in both female and male competitions.

reply

There's a bit of a joke at my work that when we ask people where they are visiting from, people will always just say their country. Americans though, they will tell you state, or city if it's a big one. These two comments proved that. 🀣🀣🀣

reply

Where do you work? When going abroad, most Americans will say they are from the U.S., but Texans will say they are from Texas.

reply

GUANTANAMO BAY.
