Critics hate it because it's not PC and Pro-America
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It's a great film and one of the best this year

shareNot sure i'd call it great yet but its gearing up to be a very authentic and expansive view of the shaping of the Western frontier, plus its a breathtakingly beautiful movie to look at. That people aren't supporting this vision more is disheartening.
If anyone's interested, I reviewed the movie on my youtube channel. Appreciate any feedback. Trying to improve -

Im going to give it a chance when it is out on DVD. Costner can be an arrogant prick of monumental proportions but he is a solid filmmaker when he can get things going. I didnt even think Waterworld was that bad of a film for what it was. I was not expecting a serious film from it though.
My expectations is more Open Range level of "greatness" which to me was decent enough. At least Costner is trying though. Hopefully its not a vanity project for him to feed his own ego on screen. I kind of wish he would just direct and not put himself in his own films now. As I said though it deserves a chance.
Just rewatched American Flyers a few days ago. Costner is great in it for those whom have never seen it. Sports film about Cycling. Ive always liked Costner even though he can be a jerkoff (not a huge deal). Work wise hes great. Never seen his TV show because Im sick of TV shows and binge watching nonsense. A lot of Kevin's very early unknown films are on youtube. They are all pretty decent.
LOL.. best movie of the year doesnt say much these days.
Apparently, the public doesn't want to see it. What did you like about it?
shareIt sounds as if any issues about the film center around the script. Possibly a need to organize people and places better. When you have a series of films that will run four installments in total, it can be easy to lose focus.
