Howdy, StoneKeeper. Last week was less busy (but not this week lol) and found time to watch quite a few movies. And since I didn't get to post last time, here's what I watched the week before, also: EARTH VS. THE SPIDER (1958) I've had this in my collection for a long time and watched it with my wife on Amazon Prime last Saturday. A guilty pleasure I first saw on a Saturday afternoon horror show while growing up. Comic moments throughout. My Rating: 7/10. YOUNG GUNS (1988) An enjoyable 'modernized' Western about Billy the Kid with a standout performance by Emilio Estevez. My Rating: 7/10. DANGEROUS PASSAGE (1944) Another new one for me, I was reading this week about Victor Killian on findadeath.com and wanted to see a movie he was in. Mystery and intrigue on a slow boat to Gavelston, Texas. Who will get the prize waiting at the end? A quick hour from start to finish. Grainy film quality but watchable. My Rating: 6/10. SOUL SURFER (2011)Based on a true story about a teenage girl's battle to overcome an injury suffered during a shark attack. My Rating: 6.5/10. STING, THE (1973) Still as enjoyable as ever due to great performances by Paul Newman, Robert Redford and Robert Shaw and a great supporting cast. My Rating: 8.5/10. ZOMBIELAND (2009) I grew up enjoying zombie movies, starting with Invisible Invaders (1949), which was rumored to partially be George Romero's inspiration for Night Of The Living Dead (1968) and I still get into watching them sometimes. Zombieland continues that genre with well mixed gore and comedy. My favorite characters are Tallahasee and Little Rock. My Rating: 8/10. UNDER SIEGE (1992) Steven Segal is in fine form with this action movie which also stars Tommy Lee Jones and another actor I always enjoy watching, Gary Busey. My Rating: 7/10. SHOOTING, THE (1967) This was a new one for me, a slow-moving western with good performances by Warren Oates, Millie Perkins and Jack Nicholson. My Rating: 6/10. Zombieland 2: Double Tap starts showing today. Wow! I hadn't seen this before, what a great performance. Fake or real, it shows his depth of genuine acting ability. It depicts that other-world feeling I've experienced in dreams quite well. Good supporting cast. I agree with your posts on this topic, chilone. This was another well thought out one. Well said. Life is a journey, death opens the door to blessed eternity. :-) I'm enjoying being here. Clueless Spun (best thing about it) Sin City Dreamscape Frequency Wyatt Earp Some great ones mentioned already, here's my favorites: Them! (1954) Earth vs. The Spider (1958) Jaws (1974) Grizzly (1976) Kingdom of the Spiders (1977) Piranha (1978) The Swarm (1978) Tremors (1990) (The whole movie series, especially the first four.) Lake Placid (1999) In The Heart of The Sea (2015) The Shallows (2016) Chris Farley I couldn't agree more. Attitude is everything and despite challenges I stay positive and upbeat myself. I rarely go there any more. They seem to be a huge promo site for that churned out crap. I've been looking at movies on Wikipedia and coming here instead. Good one, Excidium. An original iPad with 64GB and WI-fi only that's 8 years old and still going strong. I don't travel much anymore either, maybe that's why I was wondering about places others have been. I've been to the Bahamas, Australia and New Zealand. Where have you gone? Thanks for the Tubi additions list, I've been enjoying their selections quite a bit lately. Yidio is a good resource to find what Free Movies are available and Tubi is mentioned there quite a bit. Where do you like to travel to? Free market competition, plain and simple. The cheese has moved, find out where it is and refocus.
