Teacher Fired for Attending Drag Show

An employer, a Christian school, is dictating how their employees spend their leisure.

This is the reason why public funds should never be used to support private schools. Keep public and private institutions separated so freedoms continue to survive in the U.S..

I enjoyed watching the Flip Wilson Show as a kid when Geraldine appeared and talked about her boyfriend Killer. And my parents' generation enjoyed Milton Berle. But, intolerant Christian schools would criminalize harmless entertainment.

She broke a law. Breaking the law has consequences. She is free to attend a drag show, but she is not free from the consequences of that action.

I mean, it's not like they fired her because she refused to inject a pharmaceutical's failed product into her body...

Nope, she didn't break any law. Adults attending a drag show is legal.

School policy:
"The school's senior pastor told ABC13 that school policy said: "I will act in a godly and moral fashion at work, on Facebook, and in my community."

Teacher reply:
"They told me because I went to this show and posted a picture I wasn't walking in a Godly manner."

My issue isn't with the school policy. I don't want tax dollars funding private schools. If they want to limit freedom and create backward policies let them do it on their own dime.

BTW, I went to a private religious school. My mom found a job in order to pay for it. Neither my school nor my parents asked American taxpayers for funding! I even sold chocolate candy bars to help with the annual fundraiser.

reply

Read more, Homie... she broke the law because she is a teacher, and has authority over children. She also broke a policy that she agreed to when she started working for a private Christian School.

Remember what the wokies tell us about private institutions... They are a private school, they can do whatever they want to their teachers when they break laws and policies.

Womp womp.

reply

Nope. There is no law against eating in a restaurant with a drag show.

She did break the private school's vague policy which I already wrote. That's why I write if private school's want to discriminate and deny freedom, then they shouldn't take taxpayer money.

reply

It is a conservative Christian private school, so she had no business been anywhere near those depraved groomers for any reason and then showing contempt by posting a picture on her social media page.

She broke the “school standards of conduct”. Even public schools have a “moral clause in their contract/policies”.
Oh, and she was not the only teacher that had been fired from that school for attending a drag show.

reply

My issue isn't with the school policy. I don't want tax dollars funding private schools. If they want to limit freedom and create backward policies let them do it on their own dime.

BTW, I went to a private religious school. My mom found a job in order to pay for it. Neither my school nor my parents asked American taxpayers for funding! I even sold chocolate candy bars to help with the annual fundraiser.

reply

It sounds like she was fired for violating the schools social media policy. Maybe if she just went there, and didn’t post about it on a Facebook page where her occupation is linked, it wouldn’t be a problem.

I really don’t like employers monitoring people’s personal Facebook pages, but that is where are at. Every employer today has a social media policy.

The rule she broke is not real clear, but she’s also been there 20 years, so she should have some idea of what is allowed and what isn’t.

reply

No. The school found out because of Facebook, but attending a drag show us against their rules, too. I'll assume Halloween parties are also off-limits.

My issue isn't the firing.

It's the new policy in which Reps want taxpayer money to support private schools (charter) while defunding public schools.

BTW, anti-drag show is a new Rep. distraction so it wasn't around for 20 years. Most Americans grew up watching drag shows like Benny Hill, Milton Berle, Flip Wilson's Geraldine, Twisted Sister, David Bowie, etc..

reply

Yeah but if she had just gone without posting about it on her Facebook, the issue never would’ve come up. She posted about it, and it looks like she doubled down after the fact.

I don’t think anyone cared about drag shows until they started to go out of their way to target children. No one cares to prevent them from performing for other adults.

It’s also a huge stretch to call 80s music drag. The entire era was mainstream androgynous.

reply

I would really like to see the real story as it happened instead of just an opinion from one person.

reply

Hey stoopy, ALL teachers have a morality clause in their contract. You'd know that if you gave a shit about facts.

reply

Most Americans grew up watching drag shows like Benny Hill, Milton Berle, Flip Wilson's Geraldine, Twisted Sister, David Bowie, etc..

reply

None of them are drag queens! Bowie was a glam queen.

reply

glam queen? LOL! Semantics.

reply

You're so full of shit. Nothing but partisan nonsense. A propaganda machine. A liar.

reply

You believe the teacher wasn't fired.

reply

The article says - The school's senior pastor told ABC13 that school policy said: "I will act in a godly and moral fashion at work, on Facebook, and in my community."

Don't like the policy where you want to work - then quit.

She had to have know what her employer's thoughts on such shows were and if not, she's too dumb to be a teacher.

reply

Milton Berle, Flip Wilson's Geraldine and Benny Hill are unGodly? Since when?

Nope. She didn't believe it was a big deal. Americans grew up watching drag. Very funny stuff.

reply

Klinger never encouraged anyone to sterilize themselves - unless I missed that episode.

reply

Neither did the entertainers who only danced and sang. The teacher said she had a blast. Good, old-fashioned American fun!

The irony is that the restaurant franchise is mainly in anti-LGBTQ red states.

reply

Drag Queens are Homo exhibishionists. Cross dressing comics are NOT! Lefties redefining words.

reply

Homo exhibishionists:

Bowie. Twisted Sister. Queen. Elton John.

Should teachers be fired if they own a Bowie album?

reply

All the article provides is the teachers statement, I’m sure there’s another side to this as there usually is with most of the fake shit you post.

reply

Links?

reply

Again all we have is her statement, I’m sure she wasn’t fired just for going to a drag show. We’ve all learned we have to take what you and the fake news say with a grain of salt, such as Trump tear gassing a peaceful crowd so that he could have a photo op.

reply

The pastor confirmed it.

"The school’s senior pastor referred KTRK to a line in the school's operating policies manual that reads: "I will act in a godly and moral fashion at work, on Facebook, and in my community."

Typical intolerance.

reply

Well in that case (if that’s actually true) it sounds like the teacher violated her contract. Maybe shouldn’t have taken the job if the job description wasn’t something she could live up to.

At least she didn’t give any of her students puberty blockers without the parents consent as teachers would be allowed to if you were running the place.

And since you are totally ignorant about how education works let me enlighten you: Even in public education teachers are expected to maintain a certain level of moral standards outside of school. If I get on YouTube and start announcing how stupid my students are I could be fired.

reply

My issue isn't with the school policy.

Private and public schools need to remain completely separate. Wealthy parents want their private schools subsidized by taxpayers. They need to do what my family did and work to pay for their own private school tuition. Public schools where most Americans attend shouldn't be defunded by greedy selfish, rich people.

The teacher said she didn't realize eating in a restaurant where they had a drag show was "unGodly" since it's entertainment like a movie.

She makes an interesting point. Watching a "Mission Impossible" movie is definitely much more unGodly because it shows murder as entertainment which is a violation of the 6th commandment. Also, Hooters restaurants are unGodly, too. And how about Murder Mystery dinners at restaurants?

reply

I would like to read the book of what the press didn't tell us in this.

reply

Your issue is with school policy. According to you she was fired for something that she new was against school policy. Stop deflecting, dingleberry. “Wealthy parents want their private schools subsidized by tax payers”, first of all I have no idea how you can make such a broad, sweeping statement about all “wealthy parents”, secondly I would love to see your citation for that assertion.

reply

Charter schools are private schools funded by taxpayers. Wealthy parents don't need to have their schools subsidized which impoverishes schools where poor and working-class kids attend.

"Ungodly" is a vague term. The two fired teachers said they didn't believe they did anything "unGodly". The pastor and school's intolerance is "unGodly".

reply

You didn't answer my question, also it's pretty judgemental of you to make sure a blanket assumption about all "wealthy parents". Maybe there are parents who want to send their kids there but can't afford it? I thought you people had a monopoly of compassion for the poor? I guess not.

Well obviously their boss did and they consented to the standard so your poorly thought out premise/lies don't have a leg to stand on here.

reply

Private schools can give scholarships to poorer students which is a common practice.

Wealthy people I know earn on average over $250,000 with both parents working. Many have teens and/or young adult kids living at home with jobs, too so easily in the $300-400,000 range. Tax subsidized private school isn't needed by them.

Rich and wealthy should not be subsidized over poor and working-class folks. I know poor folks with $14,000 yearly. No comparison.

Defunding public schools will trap poor and working-class children in schools where classes are overcrowded, lack equipment and supplies.

Poverty also is correlated to crime.

UnGodly is still vague. I consider Republicans unGodly because you promote killing, guns, racism, misogyny, hate migrants, are selfish, like sinner Trump, refused to protect life by wearing masks, pollute God's world, exploit the poor, steal, etc.. All against the Bible.

My private school would not hire unGodly Republicans. Public schools would still hire unGodly Republicans.

reply

What if the poor student doesn't qualify for a scholarship? Generally scholarships are given to people who can play sports, play an instrument, etc. You are against poor people, you want to trap them in failing schools.

No one is trying to "defund public schools", you're deflecting and you still didn't answer my question.

If the people who wrote the policy consider it to be "ungodly" then the teacher violated the agreement. She agreed to such a "vague" condition so it's her own damn fault.

"Killing", actually it was the left who incited 574 violent BLM riots during summer 2020, ordered a hit on the SCOTUS and "MAGA Republicans"

"Guns", the left loves guns, just not in the hands of law abiding citizens. They love it when criminals have guns and when their tax payer funded security loves guns

"Racism", race is everything to the left, the right literally wants to move past it but the left doesn't because they want to milk it for all it's worth. Also you people literally elected an incontinent, incoherent racist who palled up with a former Klansman to keep schools segregated because he didn't want his children attending "racial jungles"

"misogyny" actually that's also the left, again you elected an incontinent, incoherent, misogynist who raped his daughter in the shower, turning her into a slut. You also elected a VP who literally started her political career by putting out for political favors.

"hate migrants" again not true, just against illegal immigration which the left loves so much. Ukraine's borders are sacred, but not ours, we have to let drug cartels, child traffickers, etc. in as long as they don't come from Cuba. The left wants to keep Cuban refugees out because they are escaping communism and probably won't vote for their cult

"Selfish", statistically speaking Conservatives are far more charitable than DemoKKKrats. DemoKKKrats are only charitable with the tax payers money. They don't want to make sacrifices but are fine taking credit and virtue

reply

points for other people's sacrifices

LOL, you believe in the magical sky daddy you deluded idiot. Also DemoKKKrats worship the Bible just about as much as Republicans.

So your school would not hire people you don't agree with, sounds like you're just as intolerant as you claim the school you are attacking is.

Wow I count at least 8 lies in your last post, that has to be some kind of record.

reply

"So your school would not hire people you don't agree with"

That's my point, Einstein. A private school can discriminate and make-up dumb rules and policy. A public school can't.

"you believe in the magical sky daddy you deluded idiot."

They want a Christian theocracy in the U.S.. Your unGodly speech will mean a fine, jail sentence, and being fired from your job until you repent and accept Jesus as your savior.

You're not going to do well in our future theocracy.

reply

You just said you would not hire people you agree with, you’re just as bigoted as you claim this pastor is.

Who wants a “Christian Theocracy”, and show me proof of this. Your cult worships the magical sky daddy just as much as this school you are attacking so I don’t know what your issue is. Hell you said earlier that you worship the magical sky daddy.

reply

So you admit that the pastor is a bigot! That's interesting since you support his bigotry and want all schools to be private in order for children to have no escape from religious indoctrination.

Religious fanatics couldn't get religion in public schools so they'll take tax money to pay for private religious schools while defunding public schools.

You're an unGodly heathen who will end up in a reeducation camp when the U.S. becomes a Christian theocracy. Religious fanatic extremists demand everyone follows their belief.
https://youtube.com/shorts/KRqXaohrlPc?feature=share

reply

I said you’re just as much of a bigot as you CLAIM the pastor is, learn to read you retard.

reply

You admit the pastor is a bigot. That is the reason public schools are needed, you unGodly heathen.

reply

You're making excuses for Republican unGodly behavior which is unGodly of you.

A more accurate term is financial assistance which may include scholarships and reduced rates based on income or number of kids attending from a family. Not all scholarshipsare based on performance.

Why do you believe a family earning $250-400,000 can't fend for themselves, but a family earning $20,000 can?

Realistically, the $20k family could never afford the $60k tuition for their 7-year-old even with a voucher. It's better to keep public schools fully funded for ALL kids.

reply

Again I'm an atheist so I really don't care what constitutes "godly" and "ungodly", what I do care about is people abiding by the agreements that they consented to which this teacher clearly isn't.

So all private schools will give poor people free admission if they want it? I didn't realize that, maybe you could back up your claims

Never said that, don't strawman me again dipshit. And it's not for you to determine who can and can't "fend for themselves"

I'm still waiting for proof of this so called movement within conservatives to "defund" public schools. You however want to tell an underprivileged child that if they happen to live in a district that has a terrible school that they have to stay there. You want to keep underprivileged people down, you're a horrible person.

reply

School vouchers + charter schools = defund public schools.

Everyone knows that!

"unGodly" doesn't mean anything. The school should have specific rules.

Publuc schools are free for ALL students. Republicans want to destroy them like they do everything good.

reply

No that just means school vouchers. Giving funding to charter schools doesn't mean defunding public schools. You're either retarded or a liar.

She consented to not engaging in "unGodly" behavior, it's her own damn fault.

Another lie, Republicans just want to give children who may not have had the opportunity to attend Charter Schools that opportunity instead of forcing them to stay in public schools that may be out of control with fighting, gang activity, drugs, etc. There's also a teacher shortage, it's highly probable that a child may not even have a teacher, they'll just be hooked up to a computer all day long "learning at their own pace". You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

reply

Actually, it does defund the schools which is common knowledge. There are teachers who use their own money because the public schools have less money.

"1. School voucher proponents in statehouses across the country have spent much of the past year working to pass legislation that transfers critical public school funding to the private sector.
2. Vouchers harm cash-strapped public schools' ability to provide needed classroom resources for all students.
3. Educators in states across the country have rallied against proposed legislation that would transfer public money to private schools."
https://www.nea.org/advocating-for-change/new-from-nea/educators-push-back-against-school-voucher-legislation

Private schools have already raised their tuition which makes the voucher useless for poor and working-class families who can't afford the balance. The real plan is to subsidize wealthier people while regular kids are stuck in defunded public schools.

Another goal is to force everyone to become a Christian nationalist.

You're unGodly since you're an atheist. What are your plans when the indoctrinated Christian nationalist charter school graduates begin to grow in number and power and create a theocracy in the U.S..?

reply

“Transfer” money, that doesn’t mean “defund”, even if I take you at your word (and that’s a very big “if”) you still haven’t proven your premise you liar. You just want to keep underprivileged students in failing schools where there aren’t enough teachers and whatever staff does remain is going to convince kids to take puberty blocks and chop off their genitals.

You have not provided one shred of evidence that anyone wants to “defund” public schools, sorry sweetheart.

Show me proof that anyone wants to force people to be “Christian nationalists”

I’m not worried at all, calling me “UnGodly” means nothing to me and your fear mongering about a “Christian nationalist” has nothing to substantiate it. If there’s anything to be afraid of it’s far left terrorists like BLM and Antifa along with your cult leader Diaper Joe telling his mob to go kill the SCOTUS and “MAGA Republicans”.

reply

Semantics.

You're going to end up in a reeducation camp for unGodly heathens. You won't fair well in a theocracy.

reply

Take your fear mongering to someone who doesn’t know you’re a complete liar.

reply

Book bans, forcing 10-year-old rape victims to have babies, religious fanatics on the Supreme Court, teachers fired for attending a musical show....

It's already here!

You're not going to fair well in our theocracy, unGodly heathen.

reply

- "Book banning" - you mean keeping pornography out of elementary school libraries. People can still look at porn outside of elementary libraries, the fact that you people want porn in elementary libraries is disturbing

_ "Forcing 10 year old rape victims to have babies" - I'd love to see you justify that. Show your source or admit you lied

- "Religious fanatics on the Supreme Court" - You think anyone who is conservative is a religious fanatic yet you're too retarded to realize that the DemoKKKrat SCOTUS justices are Christian also. You're just bitter that Conservatives own the SCOTUS are are not letting your cult get away with your evil

- "teachers fired for attending a musical show" - We've already been over this, she agreed to the contract

Are you all through or do you have more lies for me to debunk?

Also in the meantime your cult literally wants to murder white people and anyone who doesn't agree with them.

reply

You're not going to fair well in our theocracy, unGodly heathen. Your Fascist ideology won't save you.

reply

Hollywood is definitely Ungodly so what's your point

reply

It reminds me of the Footloose movie where music and dancing were banned as unGodly.

Add banning movies and TV shows. Get rid of teachers and students who watch them. Your idea for a country sounds close to the joyless Taliban's Afghanistan.

reply

Well Kevin Bacon was Stir of Echoes so the townspeople were right

reply

You want to ban dancing and singing?

Stir of Echoes was a ghost story.

reply

Soon, the Republicans will want people to be stoned for it.

reply

A few already do:
