Coming up on the one year anniversary of this abomination. It's just sad. The disrespect for the franchise and its fans. Would rather see "Happy Death Day 3" instead. Let 'Scream" go for awhile. Halloween (1978) No surprise. Besides Luke's legacy, they destroyed Boyega's character the most. Yes and no. I didn't like how upset John Cusack was at Savage Steve Holland for "Better Off Dead" (1985) and "One Crazy Summer" (1986). He said something like he felt scammed because he wanted to be a serious actor, and didn't realize how silly the final products would turn out to be. C'mon... he read the scripts and was basically in every scene in both films. Bull Shit that he didn't know what kind of movies he was making. Years later, both films became cult classics, and Cusack decides to change his tune and speak well of them. However, I don't ever remember hearing him apologize to Savage Steve Holland for being a complete prick. On the other hand, I was glad when Mark Hamill spoke out against Rian Johnson's interpretation of Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi. Kurt Russell Bill Paxton Kevin Bacon Kiefer Sutherland John Candy Aliens (1986) Almost Famous (2000) Halloween II (1981) Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) Revenge of the Ninja (1983) Real Genius (1985) The Wraith (1986) Better Off Dead (1985) One Crazy Summer (1986) Sexy Evil Genius (2013) Midnight Run (1988) I second this. Two-way tie. Agreed. Doesn't matter how good the film is, a lot of people have turned on Lucafilm because of Kathleen Kennedy. Nothing they make will turn a profit until she's gone. I'd have to go back to my former life. Door to door Gigolo. Same. That's us, Dude!!! I never understood why so many people have a problem with this. I don't think they've thought about it logically. She knows it's not her boyfriend. Her boyfriend, Stan Gable, is an athlete, and you would think she has had sex with him before, right? So, She knows how it feels. Contrast his body with that of Lewis and she would know right away. Nothing wrong with Disney wanting the modern audience to know how diverse a fairy tale from 19th century Germany was... I'm sure it will turn out great though, and not bomb like everything else they've been putting out lately. It's actually more 'Woke' that they changed the story from the original to where instead of Eric killing Ursula and saving the day, it's Ariel who saves the day. In the original it was a nice harmony where Ariel saves Eric from drowning in the beginning, and he saves her from a sea witch at the end. They both get to be heroes. This is par for the course for Disney now: Luke Skywalker is a broken, worn down, hermit who hates the Jedi, refuses to help his friends and family, and is a piece of shit who tried to kill his nephew in his sleep. Meanwhile, Rey is awesome, has no weaknesses, will actually be the one to bring the Jedi back. She even gets to steal the Skywalker name at the end. Copy and paste the Luke/Rey thing for Indiana Jones and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Marvel has replaced Black Panther, Iron Man, and Hawkeye with female versions. Their upcoming remake of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" will have Prince Charming removed from the story because Snow White don't need no man's help to defeat Gal Gadot. I'm not even sure this counts as 'Woke' anymore. Seems like it needs its own word. Like 'Disney'd' or 'Disneyfied' or something like that. He was trespassing, just like the counselors in training. Mrs. Vorhees gave him a pass because he was helping her cause, but to Jason, he's just another body. F13 by a mile. Really, the only thing "The Burning" has going for it is Tom Savini. And since F13 has him as well, that should cancel out. After that, F13 pretty much wins every other category. - Better actors. Adrienne King, Betsy Palmer, etc. - Way better music. Harry Manfredini kills the soundtrack, including creating the now iconic "Ki Ki Ki Ma Ma Ma" sound effect that became a staple for the franchise. - Better Ending. First time watching, no one expects Mrs. Vorhees to show up. And to see the kind of crazy that she is suffering from is pretty disturbing. - Kills. I prefer F13 kills, but if there was an argument to be made, I could see where "The Burning" could match up. But again, it's Tom Savini playing against himself. - Legacy. F13 went on to become a powerhouse franchise in horror. One of the "Big Three" And there are so many more that deserve recognition. My favorite decade for movies by far. 1. Aliens (1986) 2. The Terminator (1984) 3. A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) 4. Back To The Future (1985) 5. The Princess Bride (1987) Lionel Hutz?
