I've read Dr. No, FRWL and just started Goldfinger. I'm just not sure if I should read them in proper order or select the most popular ones. Thanks for the reply. Have you seen what happens when one of those things falls off a shelf? Not as good as the original but I still enjoyed it. I hate it when they cut the garbage. Sometimes I think the movies people see as depressing as more interesting because of that. Like The Road. I can see what you're saying though. It was good advice. I watch a lot more movies in recent years so I'm always open to suggestions. I thought it was pretty cool seeing MTM play such a role. I only know her from The Dick Van Dyke show and The MTM show. She did a great job. I thought for sure her character would have a change of heart at the end but she didn't. Made the story stronger I think. Thanks again. You didn't like Dangerfield or Ted Knight? Not at all. Why would it? Alien takes place in its own universe. You should check them out. Very funny movies. They parody the Italian westerns. Reason I found this thread is I spotted Marc Mazza while watching Moonraker. Marc Mazza was the guy Terence Hill slaps in the saloon scene (guy with the backwards guns). He had a small uncredited part as a technician. It's great. Have you seen the Trinity movies? "Kubrick all but abandoned emotionality in his later films." I don't think this is true. Kubrick just had a different ways of giving feeling to the story such as using the right music for any given scene (watch the seduction scene in Barry Lyndon where he uses Schubert's Piano Trio). I watched Ordinary People and it was excellent. Impressive performances all around. Thanks for the tip. Well, you're reasoning is irrefutable. I concede. Maybe. Hard to tell. He doesn't really explain. Just wondering what you're expecting? Should the buildings look different? Are you wanting jungle warfare? I'm just curious what you think we should be seeing in the movie? Google Hue city Tet offensive. It looks close enough. This movie is about much more than a tour through Vietnam. The story could take place in any war. It is actually pretty realistic looking. It takes place during the Tet offensive in the city of Hue (Urban warfare). The most unrealistic thing about it is that there are a lot of buildings still standing in the movie where as in the actual city of Hue it looked more like ground zero. Kubrick was lucky in that he discovered that at the gasworks where they filmed, some of the buildings there were designed by a German architect that designed many of the buildings in Hue. You should try the original series. It's really good. I've never seen Ordinary People. I'll have to give it a try.
