It's Mystique... As for Morph, although it hasn't been addressed I'm willing to speculate that Sinister's experiments on Morph during the original series enhanced his abilities. I hope, if nothing else, they explain the vastly different look at some point.

You're referring to the original strain of the Techno-Organic Virus as created by Apocalypse in the Time Fugitives two parter. Clearly the strain that baby Nathan is exposed to in Fire Made Flesh was created by Mister Sinister.
