It confused me as a kid but it’s a great poster. It’s obviously a guy in a heavy winter suit, but the face is telling that it’s not a normal human in that suit. The original poster Carpenter wanted had some intestines on it I think, but the studio thought it was too graphic and requested the poster we have today.

I think it will eventually get some sort of release. If enough money has been spent on it, it’ll definitely find its way out there somehow. No way moneyhungry producers will let their millions go down the drain. There have been other movies finished where on-set death has been involved.
