Why did Tarantino leave out the fact that Charles Manson was a white supremacist?

Just to be extra edgy, controversial and maybe throw a bone to conservatives?

reply

As if conservative are all WS. lol...

Who knows, maybe QT wanted to upset the woke crowd by leaving that out.

However, in all seriousness, was there any particular reason to point this out in the movie? And if Manson was a WS why did he choose to target white people? Not sure that even makes any sense.

But whatever the media says about him, we gotta believe it, right?

reply

No, I mean throw a bone to conservative audience members: Two macho characters destroying hippies.

Tarantino is a weird and obnoxious dude. Who knows what he was thinking.

BTW, this is his second worst movie.

reply

oh. hmmm... I don't know about that.

In my view, Tarantino rarely does "shout outs" in his movies. They're just made up stories... that cater to the revenge theme audience that anyone might enjoy watching.

In fact, he is probably the best at making these revenge movies. They always have VERY satisfying kills at the end. lol...

Although, in my view, the ending to this movie was more comedic than satisfying. I still liked it a lot though.

"No, I mean throw a bone to conservative audience members: Two macho characters destroying hippies."

This makes zero sense you disingenuous twat, if that's what you meant you would have titled the thread something like that, instead you attempt to associate conservatism with WS. OK then I associate leftie commies with grooming children and you're the type of degenerate who defends child drag shows.

reply

In the genres of film Tarantino gets inspiration from most of the heroes are “macho.”

reply

"And if Manson was a WS why did he choose to target white people?"

Because he was so deranged he thought he would kill white people, blame it on blacks, start a race war, and survive to become the new leader. At least, that was Bugliosi's theory when he prosecuted him.

reply

Manson somehow thought he could get people to think Black folks were committing the murders. He wanted to start a race war - which he referred to as "Helter Skelter." I'm not sure if he was a white suoremacust or just wanted to destroy society. I can only get so into analyzing the thought processes of murderous psychopaths

reply

I hear ya, info-police.

I just think it's odd that a "white supremacist" would kill white people. But I do agree with you, it's hard to get into analyzing what people like Manson are thinking. It might be easier to just refer to Manson as an idiot and call it a day.

reply

Perhaps that detail could have been conveyed through his crazed followers leading up to their planned murder spree but the Charles Manson character himself basically only has a brief cameo.

reply

Exactly. The whole plan was to start a race war, but Tarantino just made them hippies.

reply

Charles Manson is in the movie for about a minute and isn’t even named iirc. There’s not much exploring they can do with the guy.

reply

Why is the loony left obsessed with white supremacy? Butthurt that sleepy Joe doesn't wear his Klan robe anymore?

Manson had schizophrenia. The left is far more delusional.

reply

You're either a troll or an idiot.

reply

Why not both?

reply

its like saying "Why is the loony left obsessed with white supremacy" when somone says the nazis were racist. you are dumb AF

reply

You three are as insane as Manson. Better check under the bed, there's sure to be a White Supremacist!

reply

white supremacists are still the biggest engagers in US terrorism. maybe thats why?

reply

No, that would be Antifa.

reply

"white supremacists are still the biggest engagers in US terrorism."

The fact that you wrote that after 2020, when several months of city burning, vandalism, looting, assaulting, and killing was carried out by BLM thugs and Antifa morons, makes your statement one of the most stupid I've read in the past couple of years. "Terrorism" by "white supremacists" is exceptionally rare.

reply

Didn't you hear? Those were "peaceful" riots. It was a summer of love don't you remember? The news man said so.

reply

Hey, stupid foreign national trash, Charles Manson was a white supremacist who killed everyone to start race war. He even had a swastika tattooed into his forehead soon after he was imprisoned.

What degenerate third world ****hole do you come from, and why do you keep commenting about American history, culture and politics? You're not American. Stop commenting about stuff that happened here. Comment about the ****ty country you're stop scared to let everyone know you're posting from.

reply

It's liberals and liberal media who are obsessed about race and see racism lurking everywhere. Why wouldn't it be "throwing a bone" to them?

reply

I’m not sure if you’re trolling but I feel that the white supremacy bit would detract from the essence of the film, the impending murders, (or so we thought) of Sharon Tate and company.
And I believe it would be redundant as well as an unnecessary bit of exposition as anyone with any knowledge of the Tate murders most likely has a fundamental understanding of Manson’s ideology.

reply

Simple, really. Almost everyone viewed the Manson family as nothing but a bunch of dirty hippies, and they were absolutely first and foremost a group of filthy communist hippies. This was the common knowledge of the time, when the movie takes place.

All the white supremacy, race war stuff came out later when the group was behind bars. Therefore, since the film is set in the contemporary of the times, addressing the Manson group as filthy disgusting hippies is the correct move.

reply

They MC Commies gonna be triggered!

reply

Fuck 'em.

reply

Because it has nothing to do with film's plot. If he was making a bio, then yes, it would be relevant.
