The talent is amazing, the director ruined it
"Spielbergs rendition" sucks, so does Munich, and most everything else he's been involved with. He ruined this film with the amount of talent in it, this should've been legendary, wrong director, let him stick to dinosaur films for children.
He IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE in the class of Scorsese, Kubrick, Lumet or Francis Ford Coppola.
For crying out loud, even the camera angles in most of the scenes are all wrong, pitiful directing.
This could've been brilliant, in the hands of a great director, Spielberg ruined it
In time Spielberg will be remembered as the most over rated director of all time. He relies on imagery action and sensationalism - "how many snakes can we put in this pit". earthanime, every film you listed is complete crap. Don't you dare compare those films to the likeness of Raging Bull, 2001 A Space Odyssey or Apocalypse Now. Those are real films created by real directors.
Spielberg is a children's film maker, that's it, he basically RUINED Lincoln with all the talent that film had it flopped hard.
There's more to directing than imagery
Spielberg is highly over rated, let him make more dinosaur movies, this project should've been given to a competent director

Isn't "Young Mr. Lincoln" a wonderful film. It's in my top 10 all time, the humor is unexpected and refreshing.
Yes because they are all trash created for non-thinking sheep, grow some brain cells and don't be so offended to be called out on childish adventure movies, they are not intelligent "Cinema".

Did you ever consider that this was how the main character saw her, this is a novel come to life, they were happy with each other, they had everything to live for.
Compare it to the modern X-men crap that Hollywood is dishing out, I found this film refreshing, a novel come to life, despite "some" lack of realism.

"and is not exactly a barrel of laughs" ya think ? The Final Cut had some moments, but the mood of the recording is so gloomy it's overwhelming at times.
I like the album, but it was clear at that point that the magic was gone, from a group standpoint.
